We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Slain MassMutual Executive Held Wall Street “Trade Secrets”

Click here to access article by Pam Martens and Russ Martens from Wall Street on Parade.

It seems absolutely amazing to me that capitalists have created so many betting opportunities in their capitalist casino. The Martens in this piece have just come up with another one that appears so bizarre that it is hard to imagine being tolerated in a civilized society. I'm referring to Bank-Owned Life Insurance policies that they take out on their workers. It seems that with the number of deaths of bank employees that banks are making a "killing" (excuse the pun) from this tax exempt income. While trying to get information about this scam through the Freedom of Information Act, the Martens were told that it's a secret!
