Ocean acidification is another result of the excessive burning of fossil fuels required by the capitalist imperative of growth which creates profits and power for a tiny few. The author explains the process of acidification and how it can now be monitored by satellite instruments.
The depressing task of monitoring ocean acidification just got a little easier. A collection of scientists from Europe, the U.S. and India have developed a technique that could provide the first global and nearly real-time assessment of our rapidly acidifying seas.
