The class war is nearly over, and those at the top of the heap have once again achieved a clear victory. They and their minions can be held in abeyance but only if there is a realization that we are in a war in the first place.[My emphasis] The much discussed congressional deal on the budget ceiling is a win only for the people who want to do away with the little bit of safety net and democracy we have left.Many people all over world have come to this conclusion and are fighting back in every way they know how. Unfortunately, here in the US I continue to see too many symptoms of a disintegrating society where the vast majority of citizens are unaware of what is happening to them, and even worse, are turning on themselves. However, we must all keep things in perspective. This is only the latest battle we, as working people, have lost. The war is far from over.
