Liberal media in the US love to target leading global corporations like Monsanto, but they refuse to recognize that targeting them is only attacking a symptom of the disease, not the disease itself which is the system of capitalism. Thus, it doesn't matter who the capitalist player is: you can substitute Monsanto with Nestle or Cargill or XYZ Inc, and you get the same result--public interests sacrificed for the benefit of private interests. This is what corporations were designed to do!
While it can be useful to point out problems caused by corporations, by not linking the issues to the system, liberal media sources like Truthout serve an important function for the ruling class by diverting attention and energies away from the real problem--the system itself.
