When the Empire crawls in bed with medieval regimes to pursue its interests, things can get rather messy as the author points out with well documented, and embarrassing (to Empire directors) evidence. However, Empire directors have no problem in preventing the embarrassing details from coming to the attention of its citizens: they simply direct their media managers to avoid any direct coverage of the messy details. Actually, I doubt that such directions are needed. Corporate media executives usually have already been trained to know what information to report and how to cover it.
