Is Homeland Security Preparing for the Next Wall Street Collapse?

In the article she provides evidence that suggests that the answer to the title question is "yes". However, I don't think that it is motivated by a response to an imminent breakdown in the banking system. All the evidence indicates that the construction of a police state has been gradually developing since our ruling capitalist class went into high gear (around the year 2000) with their globalized expansion plans by offshoring most of the American economy (except the weapons industry) to reduce labor costs. However, to find the origins of this militarization of American society, we need to need to go back to the Vietnam War years during which ruling class war policies were directly threatened by the population. After this war ruling class directors began the construction of a police state which they concealed in the "War on Drugs" (for the latest assessment see this), and more recently, continued it construction in the "War on Terrorism".

They understandably felt that sooner or later American workers would wake up and rebel.
