Because so many times during the last 10 years I've documented examples of authorities employed by the capitalist ruling class have lied (here's another current example), I have concluded that they rule by deception. Crowe has entitled his website after a book (which I've read) by a well-known 1920s sceptic and critical thinker, Upton Sinclair, who revealed so much corruption and lies during that period. I think that Crowe is another critical sceptic of our age.

I have been so troubled by the reports which take statistics and tests reported by corporate media TV as absolute facts without any nuances or details about how they could be misleading and problematic, I have looked around for critical analysts who do. I am convinced that David Crowe is such a person.

This post contains two videos by Crowe. The first one is where he critically analyzes health test results, and the second uses the same skills regarding Anthony Fauci who is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984. You might also be interested in a recent post by another critical analyst, Kevin Barrett, entitled "Tony Fauci is Corrupt to the Core!"

An Israeli diplomat filed a complaint last week with police after he was pulled to the ground in Jerusalem by four security guards, who knelt on his neck for five minutes as he cried out: “I can’t breathe." 

There are obvious echoes of the treatment of George Floyd, an African-American killed by police in Minneapolis last month. His death triggered mass protests against police brutality and reinvigorated the Black Lives Matter movement. The incident in Jerusalem, by contrast, attracted only minor attention – even in Israel.

• Meet BlackRock, the New Great Vampire Squid by Ellen Brown from The Unz Review. (My reaction: I believe this is a very important article on this private investment entity for, and by, the rich. I believe it is a very important component of what Brown refers to as an "almost a shadow government", or what I and others are now referring to as an existing "Deep State" that lies behind the facade of our "democratic" government.

• U.S. Supreme Court Reaffirms U.S. Police State by Eric Zuesse from A bird's eye view of the Vineyard. My brief commentary:

Zuesse, a social-democratic indoctrinated historian, shows his alertness by recognizing this as a singular (def. #3) event by the Supreme Court, one of the fundamental branches of US government. Because of this, cops (and they know it) like Derek Chauvin have the Deep State's permission to kill citizens regardless of the circumstances. (See how the fascist faction of the ruling class after WWII purged all institutions of people who held any leftist views.)

But instead of sourcing this as rooted in the early US capitalist class whose "Founding Fathers" established their government of the USA, Zuesse implies that indecent people have been appointed in recent years to the Supreme Court. The latter has, starting in 1983 (of course cops killed people before then, but the people didn't have the courage, or were so foolish, to attempt to take legal actions against the police), ruled that killing people in the line of duty was okay, and the June 15th ruling confirms that. (Did you hear that from media corporations?)   Zuesse writes:

This isn’t a failure ONLY by the U.S. Supreme Court. It is instead an expression of the American system as it now exists, and which failure renders the U.S. Constitution itself almost meaningless, especially as regards the rights of the people and the obligations of federal officials at all levels in the government. There is no accountability; there is only blame. And, as in any authoritarian system, all blame goes downward, and all praise goes upward. That’s the reality. The U.S. Constitution is by now just a string of words. America’s Founders are dead, gone, and no longer really even an influence. That’s the reality. Pretending otherwise won’t fix anything. Drastic changes are needed. And the American public has proven itself not up to the challenge, still refuses to face the reality. This is system-failure. And the public refuses to face it.

And, he goes on to write that only a Constitutional Amendment can changes things. He's right, and Chauvin and other cops will keep on killing and protecting the ruling class.

• We’re Headed for a Hot, Dark Summer by Eric Levitz from New York magazine. My commentary follows:

I don't think we humans have much to look forward to in the years ahead. As we, as a species, degrade our environment through the activities of our ruling capitalist classes who compulsively pursue profit and power, the future looks increasingly dim as we approach the final decades of our existence. Don't misunderstand me, I think if the latter were disappeared from the Earth today, we are doomed anyway by their cumulative past activities. I think most scientists who are not compromised by their careers in commercial corporations and the government would agree with retired biogist Guy McPherson.

The news these years will be filled with rather depressing reports about very hot summers, huge unemployment, economic crises, domestic riots, and ongoing conflicts in the rest of the world (which has been usually ignored by most Americans). The US/Anglo/Zionist Empire will desperately cling to power by issuing threats of, and inflicting, violence on the rest of the world. The well-hidden Deep State actors who control this Empire will even consider catastrophic nuclear war on those countries which are capable of opposing their imperial activities. I think that the re-energized domestic enemies will, in their opposition, be too little and too late to stop them. Sorry for this prognostication.

I especially like the following paragraph:

Americans are getting a small taste of the fire and fury that the U.S. military and its allies inflict on people overseas on a regular basis from Iraq and Afghanistan to Yemen and Palestine, and the intimidation felt by the people of Iran, Venezuela, North Korea and other countries that have long lived under U.S. threats to bomb, attack or invade them.

Hopefully young people in particular during their confinement to their homes and that of their parents while not having distracting entertainment have become aware of the crimes committed by our ruling class in foreign countries.

Erin Marie Olszewski is a Nurse-turned-investigative journalist, who has spent the last few months on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic, on the inside in two radically different settings. Two hospitals. One private, the other public. One in Florida, the other in New York. 

And not just any New York public hospital, but the "epicenter of the epicenter" itself, the infamous Elmhurst in Donald Trump's Queens. As a result of these diametrically opposed experiences, she has the ultimate "perspective on the pandemic". She has been where there have been the most deaths attributed to Covid-19 and where there have been the least. 

Erin enlisted in the Army when she was 17. She deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Part of her duties involved overseeing aid disbursement and improvements to hospital facilities. While in country she received the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service, and was wounded in combat. Erin eventually retired as a sergeant, and became a civilian nurse in 2012. 

Erin is a medical freedom and informed consent advocate. She co-founded the Florida Freedom Alliance but no longer has any connection with the organization.

My reaction: The author explains how the ruling capitalist class is running out of options to contain the resistance of poverty-stricken people that is an integral part of capitalist rule. But, at this late date is social-democracy a realistic option that Kavanagh seems to favor? Is social-democracy, capitalism with a more human face, a bias of CounterPunch (because the core administrators of this website live off of the ownership of stocks, bonds, etc.)? My answers: "no!" to the first question, and "yes!" to the second. But, the more important question is: what will the ruling class do to contain the new resistance that has appeared following the George Floyd protests? Could they be desperate enough to use the armageddon option--a nuclear war? I have no answers to these questions.

• Tucker: Black Lives Matter is now a political party featuring Tucker Carlson of Fox News (via YouTube) giving his commentary regarding the growing movement by the new resistance to defund police departments all across the USA. He omits any need felt by the new resistance to construct new police departments that serve the people. My commentary follows:

Carlson represents a more authoritarian faction of the ruling capitalist class, and he, of course, regards this as "insane". The existing militarized police agencies have a history of serving the defense of the capitalist class to contain any opposition from ordinary people and to carry out their racist policies that served to divide and conquer the working class. This is a redline issue for the ruling class, much like the right to own guns that must not be crossed. But this is also a fundamental issue for the new resistance to get the police out of all instiutions--particulary the schools. So, it will be very interesting to see what happens to this effort to abolish the existing police organizations across America.

• Anti-Communism is a Fundamentalist Religion, Now Followed by Billions by Andre Vltchek from New Eastern Outlook. (Note: I must thank an activist, Caren, for alerting me to this post.) My commentary follows:

Not only anti-Communism is a religion, but capitalism is as well. Unlike Vltchek, I was thoroughly indoctrinated in capitalism having been born and raised in the USA. But I was exposed to other versions of political reality in my young adult years. So I gradually became immune to the incessant propaganda that I was subject to the rest of my life. Because I had doubts in 1959 and subsequent years about what I was told to believe about Cuba and its revolution, and I sought out obscure periodicals in the library at a university that I was attending. These provided a very different version of political reality regarding their revolution. Since then, I uncovered one lie after another while being subject to an incessant, 24/7 propaganda barrage disparaging communism (a Marxist variant on the theme of socialism) and celebrating the fake version of "democracy" which I soon discovered as the bourgeous or capitalist version of democracy. I became convinced that capitalism was the root cause of so many social problems.

However Vltchek never directly answered the question posed early in his article in a quote apparently by his friend Aleksandr Buzgalin: “How is it possible that a system so logical, progressive, and so superior to what is, up till now, governing the world, failed to permanently overthrow the nihilism and brutality of capitalism, imperialism and neo-colonialism?” Obviously he lays the blame on capitalist propaganda. But, what would you expect other than their use of propaganda together with all other weapons at their disposal in order to destroy a system that was a major threat to capitalist rule?

I have since studied this question and have concluded that the Soviet Union was so damaged after their revolution in 1917 due to foreign invasions and trade boycotts by capitalist countries that they soon succumbed to a self-serving bureaucracy led by Joseph Stalin, and from which they never recovered. In effect, a bureaucratic ruling class was established. In addition, Lenin and his Bolsheviks knew that in order to succeed, other revolutions needed to occur in advanced capitalist countries which did not happen because they were crushed by the capitalist ruling classes.

Now I would answer this question by stating that "a system so logical, progressive, and so superior" to capitalism is no guarantee that it will survive and thrive. Even if the USSR had anything like a real communism, history has offered proof of this. I think that a communist system might still succeed if humans had a future beyond a century with the (doubtful) assumption that humans could avert a catastrophic nuclear war. But they do not. Because capitalist activities have so polluted our skies, oceans, and trees with greenhouse gases, the human species has insured its own extinction within a few decades. 

Karl Marx got one thing wrong--the inevitability of communism for the salvation of humans. Why should humans unlike all other species have this quality of endurance?

• The Capitalists of the 21st Century by Norbert Häring (Germany) from his weblog Money and more. (Note: I've assigned this as a "best posts" category.) My commentary follows:

I notice this morning that there is a slew (def. #3) of posts alleging that the protest movement is being manipulated (see this, this, and this--btw, I've since removed The Duran from my recommended list of websites.) There is certainly manipulation going, but what type, to what extent, and who benefits is too soon to tell.) What is certain is that the Empire's transnational capitalist ruling class does not want a "crisis to go to waste". It's immediately apparent that the Deep State wants to get rid of Trump, but what else, to my mind, is yet to be determined. It's clear to me that police forces all across American represent the mailed fist of fascist capitalism, and as such they won't disappear or become transformed into protecting the people as their official mission. So, it appears to me that the protest movement is moving toward a clash with the ruling class.

Häring has read a book by this title (The Capitalists of the 21st Century by Werner Rügemer) which apparently the article is a summary of the book according to Häring. This article contains a considerable amount to learn about the latest phase of capitalism. For example from the following section:

This, our capitalism – or death for all

The wealth of the BlackRock milieu is increasing, but the national economies and the infrastructure important for the majority of the population – schools, apartments, hospitals, water pipes, sewage treatment plants – are decaying or being privatized and made more expensive by the capital organizers. Climate warming is being accelerated. Armament profits boom with the invention of new enemies. While the new capital masters have created diverse collective forms for themselves, they are destroying the remnants of previous collective forms of dependent employees and maneuvering them into professionally staged, ultimately joyless, sick loneliness.

With the inward war of the new, even more US-led capitalists against democracy, against the rule of law and the welfare state, they also became more outwardly aggressive. They wage declared and undeclared wars through their governments and military and intelligence services, expand their global military presence, secretly and openly arm their representatives. Even nuclear war on European soil becomes a calculated, incalculable possibility. Motto: This, our capitalism or death for all.

I think this is an important article and book that activists can learn much from. It looks to me like the current protest movement, if it is to evolve into something more that that, is confronting a powerful force. And I think that the above motto means that the ruling capitalist class are like an alcoholic, in the final stage of addiction, who will risk everything--even death--to obtain their drugs of domination, control, and wealth that the capitalist system provides them with in such abundance. (Btw, the nerve center and the real capital of this highly invisable capitalist ruling class appears to be East Wenatchee, Washington and behind the Sabey Data Center (also see this.) This way they can take advantage of taxpayer-funded cheap energy to power their data centers. The hydroelectric power plants, built by workers in the Great Depression of the 1930s, on the Columbia River produce the cheapest electricity in the USA. It is also the home of the soccer-field-sized data centers run by Yahoo, Microsoft and Dell. Do you think 21st century capitalists are dumb? I admit that they may be, but they have all the money to hire people with brains to run their data centers, the government, and everything else.

But, I fear that today's youth are ill-equipped by so many years of indoctrination, propaganda, and entertaining distractions that they are hardly a match for such a goliath of a capitalist ruling class.

My commentary: This is an excellent illustration of a social democratic take on the latest capitalist crisis. Prins harkens, along with Engelhardt, us back to the Great Depression which they see as similar to the current crisis. Unfortunately for capitalism-loving social democrats, this time is different. I see the current crisis as brought about by the predictable reckless behavior of a ruling class that aspired to do too much: build a dominant capitalist empire while pursuing the accumulation and consolidation of all the wealth on the planet. 

I believe, even without further evidence, that this capitalist class engineered the current pandemic primarily as cover for bailing out their banks while providing a number of other benefiits such as increasing fuel for their piromaniacal attacks on China and to rid themselves of "useless eaters" of elderly retired folks and surplus workers. I believe this because I have witnessed their astonishing criminal record of the assassination of the Kennedys, the Black Panthers, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, and domestic others as well as all the foreign adventures to subvert or attack others who stood in their way of building a capitalist world empire. I believe that these criminals have been responsible for many false-flag attacks both domestic and foreign with 9/11 being their most brilliant achievement.

But this time it is different. This pandemic is a desperate gamble for them to hold onto power, and to me the outcomes look to be very different than the Great Depression. You see, I was born in the middle of the Great Depression, and I know first-hand what it was like for my parents.

Biowarfare has been seen as an unpredictable weapon, and for this reason it has been banned by most capitalist ruling classes. But to our ambitious masters who, like good fascists, saw that with sufficient research and development they could engineer it as a controlled type of weapon that could be useful in particular circumstances. The current situation with defeats abroad and economic crises domestically, in desperation, they gamblled that this was such a situation. The results are yet to be determined.

My reaction: Great! But why not media corporations and their fake news and manipulation of the minds of the public? "Who'd a thought" (def.) that a Republican administration would do this? This shows that sometimes we, the people, can benefit from the internecine battles of the capitalist ruling class. (updated commentary at 10:16 AM CT.)

• The Stupid Insanity of Biological-Warfare R&D by Eric Zuesse from The Duran. 

My commentary: I love it when Zuesse uses his academic training as an historian to dig up evidence form obscure sources that serves to validate my thesis that US right-wing capitalists had already decided to build an empire at the conclusion of WWII. But my thesis was that they had decided before that, yes, before the war--read the  evidence in my commentary here. 

Furthermore, he goes on to argue with evidence that imperialist USA never stopped developing biological weapons after the war in order to suppress any nation that impeded their progress to establish an capitalist American Empire in order to destroy the Bolshevik threat and rule the world much like the Nazis attempted to do. Evidence was also comprehensively furnished by Dave Chaddock, in his book This Must Be the Place, that the US used bio-weapons in the Korean War.

I am confident that in the future there will be evidence that will slowly leak out which will serve to prove that the US was responsible for this latest pandemic. Zuesse apparently thinks so too. But, of course, our masters will try and largely succeed to suppress this evidence from the American people.
