• Culture Influences Mask Wearing: Collectivism Predicts Mask Use During COVID-19 by Peter Dizikes of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My brief comment follows: 

Dizikes uses a definition of collectivism that may not be relevant in this study:

 

Collectivism broadly refers to the inclination to prioritize a group’s needs over an individual’s concerns, and social scientists have often worked to measure its presence among different populations. The researchers found a culture of collectivism to be a key driver of mask use even after accounting for many other factors, including political orientation, state policies, the severity of Covid-19 outbreaks, and more. 

 

But what if the data provided by government agencies like the CDC, under the control of the capitalist ruling class, are all skewed (paying more to hospitals if they diagnose patients as having Covid-19, pressure on doctors to diagnose patients as having Covid-19, using PCR tests to inflate statistics, to instruct their "news" corporations to plant reports emphasizing the hysteria and fear of a "pandemic", etc.) in order to fake a pandemic? Now this researcher at MIT pleases his bosses and grant agencies with a study based on the above definition. Meanwhile, small businesses are going bankrupt and corporations are reaping record profits. And when some of the plain States are under the control of conservative capitalists who believe in old-fashioned conservative ideas, could we arrive at the same results? 

 

I think this study is a very clever way to reach conclusions that support the existence of a "pandemic" and the various self-serving interests of the current ruling class! (I've seen other studies done to please funding sources.) No doubt this study will be quoted widely by those serving the ruling class to validate their clever project to create a "pandemic".

 

I think that most people have complied with these restrictions on our liberties out of concern for the rest of society, but that doesn't mean they haven't been deceived for nefarious purposes of the ruling class! The study conveniently goes along with all other efforts to wrap the deceivers of the ruling class with virtue. 

 

Considering all the evidence, many were deceived once again as they have been in the past: the assassinations of key figures who wouldn't go along with the aggressive agenda of the ruling class, the so-called "war on drugs", 9/11, the invasion of Iraq, "the war on terrorism", and now this ... that so far is enriching billionaires, putting small businesses into bankruptcy, their employees out of work, and teaching the lessons of obedience to the great "unwashed masses". Could it be that it was the billionaires' plan all along?

What is the point here? It is that this whole ark of military strategy rooted in massive aerial bombardment – reaching back to the 1920s, and pushing forward until today in Gaza, is expiring. It has become obsolescent (at least in the Middle East), just as did trench warfare in the wake of 1918.

Tunnels (now, much more sophisticated ones), have gained renewed life as the answer to massive aerial bombardment on civilian terrain as a prime psychological tool of war. They mark the end of a strategy. Swarm missiles, and smart drone clusters are today’s inflection points: the ‘new’ warfare – just as much a game-changer as was the advent of the longbow (in the 1300s). They have become, as it were, somehow Hamas’, Hizbullah’s, the Houthi’s and Iran’s ‘alt’ Air force.

This "someone" interviews Ryan Cristián, who has done extensive research into the pandemic and who has been censored by major platforms. The ruling class, the controllers of our mainstream culture, have devised a "cancel culture" to convince most Americans to not listen to people who question the details related to the pandemic. The interviewer is not afraid to listen to Cristián who has been a target to not listen to. Cristián patiently explains the sources of his doubts about the coverage of mainstream media. If you are someone who has listened to people like Cristián or have done your own research and have concluded that the "authorities" have no scientific basis for justifying their onerous restrictions on your freedom, then you can very well ignore this article.

• Doctrine of Redundant Coercion: The State Department Document Shaping Relations with Latin America and the Caribbean by Jorge Elbaum from Internationalist 360°. My reaction: Although he fails to clarify what he means by the "Doctrine of Redundant Coercion", he does clarify the difference between the Biden and Trump administrations:

Last Wednesday, the United States returned to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) after three years of absence, decided by the Donald Trump administration. The first speech of the new Secretary of State Antony Blinken, however, did not differ one iota from the reasons given by the Republican for leaving this multilateral institution.

In August 2020, the U.S. National Security Council (NSC) disseminated through the White House website the Western Hemisphere Strategic Framework, a document in which the objectives of the global strategy were adapted to the particularities of Latin America and the Caribbean. Both documents were removed from the official U.S. government website during the week following Joe Biden’s inauguration. According to accredited journalists in Washington, the underlying reason for the deletion is not due to any rectification or future mutation of the Doctrine, but to its necessary adaptation to a more diplomatic language.

 

By doing so, he also clarifies the difference between administration regarding internal policies of the USA. It is all about style and language to hide their real motives to promote policies that serve corporate interests but, at the same time, to wrap-up their policies in more appealing words in order to sell them to ordinary Americans. In other words, the core ruling capitalist class (Deep State) prefers to use more sophisticated methods of selling policies that corporations have developed to sell policies that result in greater profits and power for them--and frequently at the expense of ordinary Americans.

• The Universe Is Just Trying To See Itself by Australian Caitlin Johnstone from her weblog. My commentary follows:
  

I agree with her use of the eye as a metaphor for seeing truth, but after she introduced god-stuff I lost her. I regard the need for truth another way. 

 

While the eye wants to see the truth, the brain often corrupts the truth-seeing eye by placing priorities on other material needs such as hunger, shelter, clothing, etc. If a human wants to raise a family, the eye and brain are brought into greater conflict. The brain often corrupts what the eye sees by the increased importance of sustaining longer-range fulfillment of the material needs spouse and children. Thus, humans often prefer the lies of people with more power to the truth that the eye sees; because powerful people can, in a class-structured society, often provides opportunities for this longer-range stability. 

 

What are class structured societies? They are societies in which some humans have more wealth, power, and opportunities than others. 

 

Because humans have always lived in class-structured societies since recorded history (roughly 10,000 years), such history is filled with stories about the conflicts between the eyes and brains of humans. Therefore, humans must decide to rid themselves of classes to form genuine classless societies and achieve equality in order to eliminate such conflicts and to be fully human.

My reaction: This is another accurate historical report on the efforts of the prime secretive agency of the Deep State, the CIA, to create a world safe for the creation of a combined US and British empire in order to promote the corporate interests of profit and power throughout the post-WWII world. It became obvious to many that there was little difference between policies pursued by fascist Germany, Italy, and Japan from that of the British Empire and their American cousins. It was all about style. Whereas the former frequently used authoritarian methods of force (police and military) to enforce their policies, the latter preferred, and often used, subtler methods of salesmanship (propaganda) and subversion (bribery)--although they didn't hesitate to use coercion when their preferred methods failed. In addition, the British and American capitalists also used their worldwide monopoly of "news" networks (Reuters, AP, BBC, etc.) to help sell their policies.

Perhaps the imperialist USA is in a dying phase in which fragmentation is the last phase. It is to be hoped because I have never before experienced such a deep feeling of living in an insane nation.

• The Arab Spring – A Personal Story by Finian Cunningham from Strategic Culture Foundation. (Note: You will need to know the meaning of the British phrase "came a cropper".) My reaction: Suddenly news about the ongoing riots and protests in Bahrain dropped out of sight. This story fills in the gap of missing information about the attempted, and very genuine, revolution in Bahrain beginning in 2010. It also confirms my theory that all mainstream media concentrate their reporting on events that are crucial to their masters in the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire. This experience together with the MSM's extensive coverage of Arab Spring events in Egypt helped me to see that the 24/7 TV coverage by MSM about the exaggerated "corona pandemic" is largely serving the Empire's policy interests.

• They Don’t Work To Kill All Dissent, They Just Keep It From Going Mainstream by Australian Caitlin Johnstone from her weblog. 

In a society that maintains the illusion of freedom in order to prevent outrage and revolution, it does not serve rulers to stifle all dissent. Just the opposite in fact: their interests are served by having a small number of dissidents hanging around the fringes of society creating the illusion of freedom. If Johnny Hempshirt over there is allowed to stand on a soapbox and criticize the US war machine, then the US must be a free country.

So they don’t work to silence all dissent. What they do is work to make sure that dissent never hits a critical mass and goes mainstream.

My commentary follows:

This grabbed my attention because I don't see my lifetime of telling the truth (as I see it) has done much good. The capitalist ruling class has to maintain the illusion of freedom and "democracy" by keeping dissidents marginalized to the numerical fringes of acceptable debate. That way they can "eat their cake, and have it too", that is, they can preserve their propaganda about freedom and democracy, and at the same time, manage their self-serving rule.

 

I was only once asked, and this was in person, how I had permitted to write such vigorous criticism about the rule of capitalism. I answered that it didn't matter to the ruling class if a few voices criticized the social-political arrangements under their rule because it was permitted only to a few dissidents in order to maintain the illusion of democracy and civil rights. However, I've noticed in the last several years that I don't see any of my posts go viral, but I occasionally did before there was a concerted effort to marginalize dissident voices. I agree with Johnstone--they are only worried about numbers of dissidents.

 

I don't share her optimism that eventually things will change. I'm particularly concerned about the word "eventually"--that is, if we had enough time, we might eliminate the ruling capitalist class. I don't think we human animals have much time left on planet Earth before we also become extinct after our (I hold the capitalist classes primarily responsible) destabilization of the climate really sets in. I think we have devoted too (def #2) much time to ancient religions which erroneously put us in the center of the universe. We have failed to recognize that we are a part of the web of life on planet Earth. In the meantime, I and other dissidents will continue our work to tell the truth about our ruling class and the system which serves them with so much wealth and power.

However, I think we should also accept our ultimate defeat. Our masters in the ruling class (I hold upper-middle-class workers and their self-centered concerns primarily responsible) have been much too clever with their control of information. Unfortunately, we human animals can't seem to overcome the weakness of our species' Achilles heel, that is, the devotion to ourselves and our families; and instead with a class consciousness, a dedication to overcoming our subservience to a ruling class. Perhaps Margaret Thatcher was right when she said "there was no such thing as society, there were only individuals and their families".

In this article Ehret is doing an obvious parody of a "deprogrammed" Trump supporter which is showing signs of becoming the latest fake theme in today's "news" provided by media corporations in America (see also this post). 

Matthew Ehret is developing of following. He is becoming a "political genius" by increasing numbers of acolytes of America and abroad. He joins a list of several other "geniuses" (James Corbett, Derrick Broze, etc.) of American politics who are proposing to lead the way out of the political mess the country is in. Ehret's articles are posted on popular critical websites like Strategic Culture Foundation and Fort Russ News (the latter appears to be posting exclusively his articles). Let me be clear--I don't share this current fawning and fashionable trend. I occasionally post articles authored by these people that shed some light on current problems. Although these "geniuses" function as good critics of American politics, they don't offer any effective solutions to this growing crisis of capitalist rule.

Ehret is another carefully guided well-read person whose mind has been prepared by 75 years of Empire "education" that forbade any reference to Marxist thought or ideas. In 1963 I graduated from a major university with a BA degree in political sociology, but I was never assigned a reading by Marx or Marxist oriented writers! I had to use the university's library to read such literature.

Although ordinary people in this article credit Hugo Chávez for their communal structure, I think that such people should be credited for the realization of bottom-up control of their nation of Venezuela come true. They have been severely tested by the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire and have passed the test.

In a two week visit in late 2005 in which we visited various communes and listening to officials, I wasn't impressed by their support. I don't think that the bureaucrats that were appointed by Chavez truly believed that such a project was possible--even Chavez didn't take the communal structure seriously enough. Chavez too often used the communal structure as a political base for his elections, and I found some of the officials in his government unaware of the details of the communal structure. My commentary in 2010 reveals my doubts about the Venezuelan radical experiment.

But thanks to ordinary people like Lemus and Sifontes, the nation is on the way to implementing the dreams of Chavez and the people of Venezuela.

It appears that material advantages as an economics advisor to capitalist organizations seduced him. He now only distinguishes the productive aspects of industrial capitalism (capitalism v. 1) in contrast to the anti-social aspects of what is referred to as neoliberalism (capitalism v. 2--Hudson refers to this as a "rentier economy") which places making money as an end to itself, and which exploits entire societies as well as workers. But it is hard to deny his affection for version 1, a more pure exploitation of workers which might cause his parents to roll over in their graves.

My personal position is that I think that the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 causing covid-19 illness is a mild and highly contagious disease that was likely created in a US lab, but used by the capitalist transnational ruling class of the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire as a prime population reduction method because of their losing battle with global warming. Other benefits include: 1) to enrich the Empire's ruling class by providing them with investments in major pharmaceutical corporations and mandating or urging vaccines; 2) as a means, after their corruption of WHO, UN's World Health Organization, to provide an excuse or cover to extend control over the populations of the Empire. 

I can't prove these propositions yet, but it takes time to unravel the deceits of the transnational capitalist class and all of their psychological operations, and I won't be here (because of advanced age) when this finally happens. I have had considerable experience with these deceptive operations throughout my long lifetime (the Vietnam War, assassinations, War on Drugs, 9/11, War on Terrorism, all the "color revolutions" or subversive efforts to overturn and consolidate their control over nations of the world, etc.), and I am convinced that this pandemic is highly exaggerated by media corporations to serve the various interests (outlined above) of  the Empire's transnational ruling class.

To be sure, covid-19 illness is real, but they engineered this "crisis" by creating a highly contagious, but mild virus and used global media corporations to spread fear of this disease. This pandemic has been blown out of all proportion to the mild threat posed for most populations in rich nations, but the shutting down of economies is devastating for poorer people ("deplorables") and likewise with poorer nations with inadequate health systems. Government authorities, under the control of the Empire's ruling class, interfered with constructive medical efforts to control it. If you think that these criminals are seriously interested in protecting your health and that of the world's populations, I have several bridges to sell you (def.)

Murray is right when he writes "If people thought that the last four years in American politics were divisive, then they’ve seen nothing yet. Since Trump was elected in 2016, we have been subjected to 24/7 lies from the main ruling transnational capitalist class. They have demonstrated that they will use any means to accumulate more money and power. But what could we expect from this criminal gang of thieves? They have simply done to Americans what they have always done to manage their minds--cover for their assassinations, psy-ops, lies, in other words, the subversive use of media corporations to spread their propaganda. Murray cites numerous specific examples to smear Trump. 

He is right about the hardening of divisions among Americans, and I think we can expect this ruling class to contribute to this divisiveness in the years to come while distracting gullible Americans from the real issues as they "laugh all the way to their banks".

While viewing this I was emotionally moved by the hordes of people protesting the deterioration of our climate brought about by the capitalist ruling class because of their obsession with profits and power. I also thought about the smug people celebrating the defeat of Donald Trump in the recent "election" announced by media corporations. I thought about the contrast of these protesting (mostly) young people and the people who were celebrating the defeat of Trump (which his camp is disputing), the devil incarnate created by the media of the ruling class. Then I thought about the Germans who were attracted to the Nazi party because they represented a powerful force that were lavishly supported by international capitalists who wanted to destroy the one country where their class didn't rule--the Soviet Union. (See my commentary in which I developed this argument.) (Sorry about the delay in applying this link--I was distracted by format problems.)

Then the thought occurred to me that many ordinary Germans were attracted to this powerful social-economic force because they felt so powerless themselves, and they wanted to identify with what they perceived as a powerful force. I thought the same was applicable to many of my fellow Americans.

But my mind didn't stop there. I concluded that the Great Reset project that our unelected masters decided and their massive engineering of this pandemic was intended to divert our attention to the many real issues that divide Americans while they focus their attention and actions to projects that will support their class's obsession with profits and power, and to extend as long as possible their system of capitalism that provides them with these rewards.

• Klaus Schwab and his great fascist reset from Winter Oak. My commentary follows (On 10/15/2020 I edited this entry to include the much distorted and propagandized the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact by Western historians): 

This rather lengthy article exposes the Great Reset project as a wet dream of the current transnational capitalist ruling class of the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire. I think that the author places too much emphasis on the similarities on the current scene in America with that of 1930s fascism in Germany and Italy, and not enough emphasis on this vision of the Great Reset as a rather desperate fantasy of the transnational capitalists of the 21st century. Fascism is endemic to any capitalist system. Fascist capitalist classes use mostly crude methods of censorship, surveillance, and police state measures, while most other capitalist countries favor pseudo-democratic methods of controlled elections and carefully crafted propaganda that infects every institution.

Capitalism's trajectory was always headed in the direction of fascism, especially when capitalist countries are threatened. That is precisely why before WWII, during most of the 1930s, capitalist ruling classes in all the other "democratic" nations mostly supported the fascist regimes in Germany and Italy. This support was motivated by the twin threats to capitalist regimes posed by the Great Depression and the rise of the Soviet Union which forbid any significant private ownership of the economy. The latter's system of socialism was a blasphemy to the church in which capitalists worship.

The British ruling class was especially disturbed by any country that promoted socialist policies; and when the Soviet Union appeared, they viewed it as a threat to their system and Empire. But Germany didn't exactly follow the British script for them to head east through Czechoslovakia and destroy the Soviet system. Instead they invaded Poland which held defense treaties with Britain and France. The German government had just signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact with the Soviet Union which permitted the two powers to partition Poland between them. 

The allies have made much of that in their propaganda and the rewriting of the history of WWII. But having failed to form an anti-fascist alliance with the Western powers, the Soviets opted to gain time to prepare for the expected invasion of their country by Germany. As a result the Soviets in August of 1939 signed a non-aggression pact with Nazi Germany in which they would carve up Poland between themselves. Shorty thereafter the Nazis invaded Poland and formally started WWII.

After eight months of a phony war with Britain, Nazi Germany invaded France and the Low Countries, and it became clear to the British that Germany was a threat to the British Empire. It was then that British capitalists switched their support (Neville Chamberlain) from the imperialist policies of Germany and Italy to an organizing (Winston Churchill) of capitalist friends of British capitalists to protect their British Empire.

Germany initially overran France on other European countries and went on to attack Britain. The German capitalist ruling class was motivated by resentment that France and Britain demonstrated in the Versailles Treaty after WWI, and the overt fascists of the ruling German capitalist class soon represented a threat to the British Empire and their dominance in the world. WWII left Britain in ruins, so the British ruling class, and what remained of the Empire, teamed up with the American capitalists to form a new capitalist empire (they later added Israel) to counter the socialism found in the Soviet Union and to restore capitalist control of the world. Few are surprised that defenders of Julian Assange against the UK injustice system are misrepresented or excluded by imperialist country governments supported by all the disinformation outlets their countries' oligarchs control. However, scientists questioning public policy on COVID-19 find themselves marginalized not only by dominant liberal opinion but also by majority progressive opinion too. Eminent scientists like John Ioannides, Sunetra Gupta, Sucharit Bhakdi, Alexander Kekulé, Dolores Cahill and dozens of others find themselves in effect, if not disappeared, certainly generally excluded from public discussion.
