This is a guest post written by a humanities teacher and freelance writer who holds a masters degree from the School of African and Oriental Studies, a public research university in London. It lays out over fifty concerns regarding pandemic policy implementation and plans for a cybernetic future, full spectrum dominance of life on the planet by defense, bio-tech, and finance interests. • James Corbett Presents to the Corona Investigative Committee​ featuring James Corbett being interviewed by Reiner Fuellmich of the Corona Investigative Committee (based in Germany) about Corbett's investigation into the corona crisis and the future of humanity.​ My commentary follows:
   
  Early in the interview (02:45m) Fuellmich asks a very profound question: "What drives them? I mean they have enough money." The answer furnished by Corbett can be condensed in one sentence: The transnational capitalist ruling class of the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire have bought into the assumption that humans are an exceptional species. Because they have long discovered that wealth brings power in its wake, they have pursued the accumulation of wealth. Now that they have so much wealth (besides the fact that power/control is addictive), the Empire's ruling class fantasize about a corollary of wealth/power: they must overcome death to prove the validity of their assumption.
   
  They recently embraced the high technology of digitization of everything (the "Great Reset") in order to realize their fantasies.
  
   
  But doubts are creeping into their mad-power-complex, and most notably from the Russia-China-Iran combination which threatens not only their Empire, but also the pursuit of their assumption. Too bad for us, the rest of humanity, this mad pursuit threatens the survivability of our species ... and most others.

As the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire crumbles, we will see increasing chaos

The recent assassination of Suleiman, a beloved leader of Iran, by the US continues the desperate coping by the Empire confronted by its own disintegration. There are so many indications that the capitalist Empire is threatened by a myriad of problems. Among these are the European countries which are seeking and implementing cheaper Russian energy and lucrative trade with China, the indebtedness and the problematic economy of the US as depicted by numerous honest articles on the internet (see, for example, Wall Street on Parade), the ongoing conflicts between the Deep State and the Trump administration, the continuing subversion of Bolivia by US agents, the revelations of fake reports by US commanders in Afghanistan as reported by The Washington Post, the ongoing imprisonment and torture of truth-tellers (Assange and Manning), extreme weather events, etc. 

Things could very easily spiral into a nuclear war conflagration. Even if we avert this nightmarish scenario, the Earth's habitat that supports our human species and most others is being destroyed by capitalist ruling classes and their obsession with profits and power.

While enduring all this, most Americans are firming sticking their heads in the sand by mostly believing what their told by media corporations (I include so-called public media corporations like PBS and NPR) and diverting their attention to sport events. In the days ahead we shall see increasing chaos in our lives.   

The Inconvenient Truth of Modern Civilization’s Inevitable Collapse

This author returns from an absence of nearly a year to summarize scientific data which show clearly that we, as a human species, are in a "dire" situation. Because of his his extended absence I thought that he had given up his long effort to warn humans of this threat. However, he seems at one point to hold out some hope for a future of humans if only we can reduce our birth rate.

By far the most effective way to reduce future emissions and resource consumption is to reduce human birth rates, yet the global population is still increasing at about 90 million people per year despite the geographic shift in fertility rates.

This "effective way" is not effective at all which he readily admits. I am not a scientist, but I can read, and have read many scientific articles on the subject. I now think there is very little chance that humans can survive. Our atmosphere has become so loaded with carbon that there is a baked-in effect that will increase global warming for many decades even if we stopped completely all carbon emitting now. But I don't know that, and nobody knows that for sure. 

Hence, in the meantime we must use the most effective means to combat this threat by ending the rule of a tiny segment of humans and their system which has caused so much devastation--and not only wrecking our biosphere. We have seen disastrous global wars in the 20th century followed by endless wars so far in the 21st century. We have also seen entire populations uprooted and migrating to other areas of the globe to escape such disasters. We have also seen the growth of concentrated wealth in the hands of fewer and fewer people who use this wealth to increase their power over our lives. The obvious solution is to rid ourselves of their system of capitalism!

I was astonished by this post. Its contents contained two short videos and text which appropriately pertained to data showing how the climate is warming. But the tacked-on video at the end of the article is where my astonishment kicked in. This 47:30 minute video is of primary importance to me because it provided so much evidence questioning the system of capitalism, and led up to, but just stopped short of, the issue of the system's threat of human extinction.

Nowhere is this kind of presentation present in mainstream media and it is scarcely mentioned even in what passes for alternative media. It seems that our capitalist overlords have expunged from our imaginations even thoughts about the system which provides them (via private ownership and control of socially performed economic activities) with overwhelming power and wealth.

Does Our Civilization has at Least Some Chance to Survive?

This wanderer over distant lands gives us his assessment of the chances of survival of humans. In spite of all the troubles and setbacks he's witnessed, he is still in the fight for survival. This willingness to fight for our survival is something so essentially human about Vltchek. He admits that he is scared, but he looks extinction squarely in the face and refuses to stop fighting.

Lately, I have been asked this question on several occasions. “Can our humanity really survive?” “Am I an optimist or a pessimist?”

My replies vary, as I don’t think there can ever be one single answer to this most urgent, the most important query.

Sometimes my answer gets influenced by location: where I am at that moment, or where I have been recently? In a Taliban-controlled village in Afghanistan, on a rooftop of a whorehouse in Okinawa while filming deadly US air force bases, or perhaps in an elegant café after visiting an opera performance with my mom, in Stuttgart or in Paris.

Whether I have been injured on a battlefield or in a slum, or have been applauded (most of the time, hypocritically) at some event where I was invited to speak? Have I been doing something ‘forbidden’, insane and dangerous, or merely processing my visual or written materials in Japan or in Bangkok?

Depending on the circumstances, I can sound negative or cautiously optimistic.

But the truth, the honest truth is: I am scared.

The detention and isolation from the world of Julian Assange

They are destroying him slowly. They are doing it through an indefinite detention which has been going on for the last eight years with no end in sight. Julian Assange has become one of the most widely known icons of freedom of the press and the struggle against state secrecy. Recently, his detention in the Ecuadorian embassy in London has been joined by isolation, strict rules and various forms of pressure which seem to have no other purpose than to break him down. A grip meant to destroy his physical and mental ability to resist until he either breaks down or he steps out of the Ecuadorian embassy, unleashing the beginning of his own end. Because if he does step out, he will be arrested by the UK authorities, and at that point the US could request his extradition so that they can put him in jail for publishing classified US documents. Julian Assange is in extremely precarious conditions.

After eight months of failed attempts, la Repubblica was finally able to visit the WikiLeaks founder in the Ecuadorian embassy in London ....

Chris Hedges and Joe Lauria examine the issues related to the continuing confinement of Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian embassy and the well-documented intention of the agents of the US Empire to get him and do what they can to destroy him. It's clear from what the two discuss is that this is without legal precedent or legal foundation, but the power of elites or ruling classes have only occasionally been stopped from having their way. The rule of law which is often touted by capitalist ruling classes as a virtue of their rule will be easily dispensed with whenever their rule is threatened. The Anglo-American Empire is now being threatened like it has never before. Only the "distracted" people can stop them now from persecuting Assange and, above all, themselves.

If it were only the well-being of Assange that was at stake, people could ignore this persecution (and still survive). However, so much more is at stake. If the people continue to fail to act, they will permit the acceptance of fascist rule and the insane actions of an extremely threatened ruling class. The Empire's capitalist class knows it, but there are doubts about what the "distracted" people will do. Rarely have so much been at stake historically in a persecution of an individual by powerful elites.
