We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

The Super Bowl Promotes War

Click here to access article by David Swanson from The Peoples Voice.
The U.S. military has been dumping millions of our dollars, part of a recruitment and advertising budget that's in the billions, into paying the NFL to publicly display love for soldiers and weaponry.

  1. That the military promotes pro sports which promotes the military is no newsflash, yet Swanson's article is illuminating in the detail it offers. The fly-over's, the re-emphasized connection between games and war, the fact that despite all this expensive tax-supported propaganda, people are still not signing up in droves to become part of the killing machine. Their reluctance appears to be the reason the propaganda must be so thick.

Their reluctance stems as well from their electronic leashes - the "comforts" and distractions that keep them so preoccupied and smug that they don't "have time to" sign up. Ironic that the two forms of propaganda compete, or perhaps complement. Andre Vitchek continued to vividly point out this week that people must be kept unaware that their everyday lives - life"styles", phones, cars, music, computers - depend on the war machine, are brought to them courtesy of the war machine, covered in other peoples' blood. See www.globalresearch.ca/europe-is-built-on-corpses-and-plunder/5506019 and http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article43452.htm

War keeps us fed and distracted. So far, others have paid, others usually of the "wrong" skin color, others far away in places we don't know. But, as this off-shore plunder scrapes the bottom of the barrel, the elites will certainly not lose their appetite for the riches the plunder - and our siilence - have brought them. The riches WAR has brought them. Remembering that the global elite already feel no allegiance to any county, it's easy to understand that they will, they must inevitably turn on their war machine on...us.
