How utterly uninterested in truth and facts it is. How arbitrary its dictates are. How completely made-up its ongoing story of the world is. It just says what’s convenient for the powerful, and when that’s not convenient anymore it switches to something else.

• Biden’s Disastrous ‘Infrastructure’ Bill by F. William Engdahl from New Eastern Outlook. My brief commentary follows: 

Engdahl argues that the "infrastructure bill" is mostly propaganda to fool the American public (once again), but will actually promote the transnational capitalist Empire's virtuous sounding phrase "Green Agenda". The latter is, in turn, promoted to hide "Agenda 21" to seem more palatable to the brainwashed American public. Here is what the editor of Technocracy says about Agenda 21:

 

From its inception in 1992 at the United Nation’s Earth Summit, 50,000 delegates, heads of state, diplomats and Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) hailed Agenda 21 as the “comprehensive blueprint for the reorganization of human society.” The 350-page, 40 chapter, Agenda 21 document was quite detailed and explicit in its purpose and goals. They warned us that the reorganization would be dictated through all-encompassing policies affecting every aspect of our lives, using environmental protection simply as the excuse to pull at our emotions and get us to voluntarily surrender our liberties.

 

But what this editor doesn't understand is that the capitalist ruling class's motive is to try to salvage the capitalist system, which has brought capitalists so much wealth and power, in their recognition that a finite planet cannot accept a system that results in unending growth. Or, to put it differently, this plan is a desperate attempt to save capitalism in a limit-bound finite planet. The editor compounds this misunderstanding with his well-indoctrinated ignorance about socialism.

Steppling, who presently lives in Norway, is an American playwright, author, etc. who writes like somebody who has been extensively educated. And, it takes such a person (with a lot of time) to fully understand his writing. A few quotes from his article reveals much:

The most profound artworks demand something impossible from the viewer ... One problem is this idea that Kafka (but substitute any major novelist) is tracing out the shaping of the modern subject — through capitalism (or mastery over nature, etc) but then leaving capitalism as a universal. As if God created Capitalism on day 8. One cannot write criticism without being critical, of all things. Of oneself. If not, the class system is absolved, class struggle and political repression. They become a form of Nature.

 

And he concludes his article with this insightful statement:

Culture is an indicator for the mental and physical health of a society. The trend toward fascism is sickness. The fascist state is the apotheosis of sickness; physical and moral. The ruling class has no respect for anyone outside their small circle.

The ruling class, the controllers of our mainstream culture, have devised a "cancel culture" to convince most Americans to not listen to people who question the details related to the pandemic. The interviewer is not afraid to listen to Cristián who has been a target to not listen to. Cristián patiently explains the sources of his doubts about the coverage of mainstream media. If you are someone who has listened to people like Cristián or have done your own research and have concluded that the "authorities" have no scientific basis for justifying their onerous restrictions on your freedom, then you can very well ignore this article.

• JFK, Allen Dulles, and Indonesia, a book review by Edward Curtin from his weblog Behind the Curtain. My commentary follows:

It is hard to discern what events were crucial in the fulfillment of the empire builders in 1941 as they launched their project to what became the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire, the "New World Order" of today. But one such event noted by many people interested in true history, and Prof. Curtin and I are among them, is the assassination of President John Kennedy. I remember very well the details of the event, and that verified details pointed to a coup d'état by what many scholars began naming as a Deep State, the real capitalist rulers of their growing empire. Although I don't recall Curtin's use of the concept of the Deep State, he was clearly disturbed by this event because it clashed with all the conventional political ideas with which he had been indoctrinated.

One important agent of this Deep State was the long-time director of the highly secretive Deep State, the CIA, was Allan Dulles. Pres. Kennedy was in the tradition of Franklin Roosevelt. Kennedy was no anti-capitalist as was Roosevelt, but he, like Roosevelt, believed in social justice among and within nations. The fact that capitalism was antithetical to social justice escaped both leaders, and Kennedy, and maybe even Roosevelt was (many suspect this) assassinated for this error in judgment.

Professor (of Sociology) Curtin is one such scholar (shortly to be dismissed from his employment), and he has closely followed the events and the coverup by government authorities, media, and all institutions since it happened in 1963. Thus, Curtin can be named as an expert on this historic event, and the author of this new book added clarity to his understanding.

• Why Do These Uighur Witnesses' Stories Constantly Change? Bernhard, a Germain independent blogger asks from his weblog Moon of Alabama. My reaction follows: 

This is just more anti-Chinese propaganda (disinformation) that highly secret agencies proliferate from the media corporations and the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire that they serve. This propaganda, like all the other efforts such as the Covid-19 pandemic, Russia, censoring real independent bloggers, etc. are designed to control the minds of the American populace. 

The first step is to turn off your TV (for entertainment only) and get the real news from thoroughly independent bloggers. But you say, which are "thoroughly independent"?  That is the critical challenge of our times! Most of us are trying to merely survive and don't have time to devote to any challenge. This is unlike the fabulously rich who can spend very little of their money to hire desperate folks like us to go online and spread disinformation.

True to his anarchist ideology, Corbett declares that people like Bill Gates is "not the font (def. #2)" (around 4:20m) of these crimes, "the government is the problem" (12:35m). He does not yet identify the system and its rewards in the form of wealth and power that seems to always end up in the hands of a tiny class of billionaire capitalists. He continues to mix-up the problem, the capitalist system, with the government which is only a facade constructed by the ancestors of the ruling class and sponsored by this tiny class of billionaires--a ruling class whose power shapes all of our institutions. I can't wait for his "solutions" (sarcasm).

• The 2020 Worldwide Corona Crisis: Destroying Civil Society, Engineered Economic Depression, Global Coup d’État and the “Great Reset” by Prof. Michel Chossudovsky from Global Research. This is an E-book summarizing all of his articles regarding the "pandemic". My commentary follows:

The Covid-19 pandemic which is real but exaggerated to a great extent by ruling class's control of the media, using bribes to hospitals to identify an upper-respiratory illness as Covid-19, pressure on doctors to diagnose anything that looks like coronavirus to do the same, tests like PCR that the creator of the test, Kary Mullis, severely criticizes as inappropriate, censorship of all voices in opposition no matter how qualified they are, etc.

I can't entirely figure out where Chossudovsky's views are coming from. He has in prior years severely criticized those who worried about the deterioration of our environment and the climate crisis. He hints of that position in this article by writing:

The same philanthropic foundations (Rockefeller, Ford, Soros, et al) which are the unspoken architects of the “Great Reset” and “Global Governance” are also involved in (generously) financing Climate Change activism, the Extinction Rebellion, the World Social Forum, Black Lives Matters, LGBT, et al.

He mixes in the climate crisis with all the nefarious projects that are sponsored by the capitalist ruling class. The latter, which is unsolvable under their system, has been worrying them since The Club of Rome issued its 1972 report "The Limits to Growth" which correctly recognizes that infinite growth on a finite planet is impossible. However, the emphasis was on population growth which ironically had been previously celebrated by capitalist sources because the increase of population always meant more customers for their products. The international capitalist ruling classes have been worried about this problem ever since. The Great Reset is often cited by critics as an example of a population reduction project, that is, a reduction of "useless eaters" (those who do not contribute to the profits of major corporations) as a major objective of its project under the cover of protecting people's health.

Perhaps he, too, is an anarchist.

Presented as a neutral authority, the Washington Post did not inform its readers that the IISS is largely funded and overseen by the weapons industry, with five of its six most generous contributors — Airbus, BAE Systems, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon — major defense manufacturers, each donating six-figure sums. The IISS’ council includes a former NATO Secretary General and previously included the CEO of Lockheed Martin.

• Unpacking the Aftermath of Trump’s Coup Attempt With Brian Becker, featuring an interview with Becker, a longtime activist and host of The Socialist Program, conducted by Dan Cohen from Mint Press News. My commentary follows:

Just to be clear, I don't know for certain what happened in Washington DC on January 6, but I tend to think that Americans are so naive about "intelligence" agencies' abilities to manipulate the views of ordinary Americans that they are taking what is reported by corporate media at face value. Because Becker has been active in revolutionary movements all of his adult life, he is no ordinary American. I knew of him while living in the San Franciso Bay Area in the 1980s. However, he with his obsession regarding older forms of fascism tends to see the older forms of fascism everywhere. He, too, fails to see the new forms, of what I refer to, as "neofascism".

Becker doesn't seem to be aware of neofascist forms of mind control that capitalist ruling classes have developed since WWII as reflected in foreign reports of color revolutions and other psychological operations (psy-ops) that have been designed and implemented for the past 75 years to crush any revolutionary forces or to install a new more "cooperative" regime. The "intelligence" agents have since learned more sophisticated methods of shaping views of ordinary people (see my commentary to the Harris article on Jan. 7) residing in US/Anglo/Zionist Empire. Because ordinary Americans do not follow reports of such incidents in foreign lands, they are so ignorant when these techniques are used against them. They are "babes in the woods" (def). 

Since January 6 I've been reading reports that reveal that key Congressional figures were refused requests for more security. I am inclined to believe the report by David Mathisen in his article "The Capitol Hill Fiasco 2021" and its implications. It was likely a psychological operation by secret agencies of the Empire to pave the way to more laws restricting civil liberties, promoting censorship and surveillance of dissidents, and other nefarious objectives.

Hanania argues that the US is an imperialist nation that is bent on "global hegemony". After that he introduces several errors in his geopolitical analysis.

Ultimately, the danger for American elites is not that the U.S. may become less able to accomplish geopolitical objectives. Rather, it is that more Americans might begin to question the logic of U.S. global hegemony. Perhaps not every state is destined to become a liberal democracy, and nations with very different political systems can coexist peacefully, as many countries in East Asia do. Maybe the U.S. will not always be at the frontier of military and economic power, and the country that overtakes it may have completely different attitudes about the nature of the relationship between government and its citizens.

First of all, he refers to "American elites". This is a capitalist ideological term for ruling class. Next, in the third sentence, he writes "Perhaps not every state is destined to become a liberal democracy....". The term "liberal democracy" means bourgeois democracy, or the capitalist version of democracy which is a fake version of democracy. The author doesn't understand that nations ruled by capitalism inevitably become imperialist internationally and fascist internally down their acquisitive road to owning and dominating everyone or every nation on Earth. He is arguing for tolerance in a beast that is inherently intolerant.

• The Capitol Hill Fiasco 2021 by David W. Mathisen from his weblog Star Myths of the World. This was a psy-op performance? Mathisen thinks so and furnishes footage from the event to argue this. (Note: You may also be interested in the comments of "Syrian Girl", who I believe now lives in Australia; and Bernhard's article entitled "Democrats Use Capitol Incident To Suppress Political Dissent".

Most American workers don't follow foreign affairs, but they may start after witnessing attacks on their safety and welfare. The ever-shrinking capitalist ruling class regards workers as "deplorables" who increasingly do not share their interests of dominance over other nations, and certainly not over them.

My reaction: I don't agree with one of Cullen's opinion that there is no over-population on our planet and our masters are concerned with what he asserts as a fake "climate change" scenario. Capitalist ruling classes have always welcomed population increases and they were aided by collaborated religious authorities to promote families having children and restricted access to contraceptives. The Empire's ruling class is aware of, and concerned about, the overwhelming scientific evidence of the threat of dramatic climate destabilization, but their solutions to the crisis are totally self-serving as one would expect. Although vigorously denying it, they refuse to give up on their polluting industries, which directly or indirectly result in global warming, but also provide them with fabulous wealth and power.

This piece of evidence supports the view of the general capitalist class that there is no such thing as society, only families (and possibly their neighbors) so well articulated by the former Prime Minister of Britain Margaret Thatcher. Thatcher was only recognizing the reality of the capitalist system and its promotion of the welfare of families. This ultimately leads, like the game of Monopoly, to a few "winners" and many "losers". Placing one's family's interests before society's is downgrading the importance of societies. 

What most people don't know is that societies are what has preserved the human species for several millions of years before humans resided in communities made possible by agricultural advances only in the last 10,000 years. Therefore, class structured societies with their emphasis on the welfare of the family are a dynamic that will ultimately lead to human extinction in which all humans and most other species lose. With the destabilization of the climate caused by human activities under capitalism, humans are threatening their extinction along with most other existing species on our unique planet Earth.

People will gradually wake up and "connect the dots", but it will be far too late to save a planet that can support human life and that of many other species.

The essay barely skims the surface of what is wrong about journalism as practiced in mostly capitalist countries. The author's very treatment of this subject betrays his bias toward capitalism and the capitalist ruling class. His views are summed up in two sentences near the end of the essay: 

... journalists have power, the power and the money of the institution behind them. Assange has no institution behind him. Indeed, the institutions are all against him. A media which used him up has abandoned him.  

This begs the question of what kind of basic "institution [is] behind them" (the critics of Assange, that is, most journalists)? The fundamental institution behind most journalists is capitalism and the morality of capitalism that Margaret Thatcher, a total sociopath, revealed to the embarrassment of her masters in the ruling class:   

...there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families.

Constrast this moral code with that of Caitlin Johnstone.

Upper-middle-class people who serve the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire are rewarded for on-the-job behaviors that supports the moral code illustrated by brainwashed Thatcher, but are unemployed if they behave according to Johnstone's moral code. Unfortunately, most journalists conform to their boss's expectations which conform to the ruling class's moral code because they need to protect their well-paid careers to support their families. Thus, all institutions (education, media, and entertained) controlled by capitalists insure their rule by indoctrinating their working classes according to capitalist morality.

• Anti-Communism is a Fundamentalist Religion, Now Followed by Billions by Andre Vltchek from New Eastern Outlook. (Note: I must thank an activist, Caren, for alerting me to this post.) My commentary follows:

Not only anti-Communism is a religion, but capitalism is as well. Unlike Vltchek, I was thoroughly indoctrinated in capitalism having been born and raised in the USA. But I was exposed to other versions of political reality in my young adult years. So I gradually became immune to the incessant propaganda that I was subject to the rest of my life. Because I had doubts in 1959 and subsequent years about what I was told to believe about Cuba and its revolution, and I sought out obscure periodicals in the library at a university that I was attending. These provided a very different version of political reality regarding their revolution. Since then, I uncovered one lie after another while being subject to an incessant, 24/7 propaganda barrage disparaging communism (a Marxist variant on the theme of socialism) and celebrating the fake version of "democracy" which I soon discovered as the bourgeous or capitalist version of democracy. I became convinced that capitalism was the root cause of so many social problems.

However Vltchek never directly answered the question posed early in his article in a quote apparently by his friend Aleksandr Buzgalin: “How is it possible that a system so logical, progressive, and so superior to what is, up till now, governing the world, failed to permanently overthrow the nihilism and brutality of capitalism, imperialism and neo-colonialism?” Obviously he lays the blame on capitalist propaganda. But, what would you expect other than their use of propaganda together with all other weapons at their disposal in order to destroy a system that was a major threat to capitalist rule?

I have since studied this question and have concluded that the Soviet Union was so damaged after their revolution in 1917 due to foreign invasions and trade boycotts by capitalist countries that they soon succumbed to a self-serving bureaucracy led by Joseph Stalin, and from which they never recovered. In effect, a bureaucratic ruling class was established. In addition, Lenin and his Bolsheviks knew that in order to succeed, other revolutions needed to occur in advanced capitalist countries which did not happen because they were crushed by the capitalist ruling classes.

Now I would answer this question by stating that "a system so logical, progressive, and so superior" to capitalism is no guarantee that it will survive and thrive. Even if the USSR had anything like a real communism, history has offered proof of this. I think that a communist system might still succeed if humans had a future beyond a century with the (doubtful) assumption that humans could avert a catastrophic nuclear war. But they do not. Because capitalist activities have so polluted our skies, oceans, and trees with greenhouse gases, the human species has insured its own extinction within a few decades. 

Karl Marx got one thing wrong--the inevitability of communism for the salvation of humans. Why should humans unlike all other species have this quality of endurance?

My commentary: I scanned this article and discovered that I differ from Ford as to the history of socialism in the Soviet Union. After reading widely in their history, I conclude that socialism only lasted a few years. Soon after Lenin died and Stalin consolidated control of the government, the Soviet Union deteriorated into what I call "bureaucratism" (others call it "state capitalism").

The original Bolsheviks were exhausted fighting the Allies among the capitalist countries and the White armies, the embargos, etc. After Lenin died and the Stalinists consolidated control, the Soviet bureaucracy (also called "nomenklatura") gradually served themselves extra privileges denied to ordinary Russians: they appointed themselves to advanced positions in the bureaucracy, they got their children into the best schools and later into the best careers, they shopped at exclusive stores, etc.)

My commentary: This distinguished Middle Eastern journalist writes how the rich US/Anglo/Zionist Empire operates in regions of the Middle East that are not under their control. The ruling capitalist classes control nearly all media in the countries they control, and thus control the narratives (control the perceptions of reality among populations) published/broadcast by media outlets throughout their Empire. 

However, the directors of the Empire (major capitalists) must resort to crude bounties on leaders who are their antagonists and independent of Empire influences in the Middle East. Magnier reports that these bounties inevitably backfire. Instead, such leader-antagonists receive rewards in terms of status and perks that other, more cooperative (with the Empire) leaders do not.

This reaction is in stark contrast with media corporations within the Empire. After many years of infiltrating these corporations, the directors of the Empire now have complete control of media (formerly they had only partial control), and thus control all information that their populations receive. The directors of the Empire do this by rewarding easily corrupted journalists with lucrative careers. The latter careerists joined many other "professionals" (particularly in education) in the upper-middle class (Malcolm X referred to them as house niggers: he used this term when speaking to largely African-American audiences, but YouTube purged these videos) who enjoy the many fruits of capitalist rule.

This is the primary secret of the Empire's success; and need I add, the demise of humans and most other species on the unique planet Earth.

Are You Complicit? by The Anti-Social Socialist

This post reveals the naive political consciousness of many activists in today's USA. The post contains two major errors: 1) it puts the burden on individuals to not comply and cooperate with the capitalist system and their fake rulers; and 2) it ignores how the American version of fascism is highly deceptive and manipulative. 

The ruling class controls nearly all our "realities" using very sophisticated techniques that were first developed by the Creel Commission in WWI as psychological warfare to stunning success. Yes, our masters in the capitalist ruling class used not only psychological warfare techniques on their enemies of that time, but worst of all, on ordinary people in the USA not only to get them to interrupt their lives and go across the ocean to kill other ordinary people who had been similarly brainwashed, but to get ordinary Americans to support the war effort.

Capitalist ruling authorities since the 1930s realized the vast potential of this new discipline and went on to earnestly study and develop this technology to not only sell products but to create "realities" about the political and economic world that has neutralized a working class consciousness. They have created a full-spectrum propaganda technology that serves the interests of profit and power of ruling capitalist classes in the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire. 

In the 1930s, Walter Lippmann, building on his extensive work in psychological warfare in WWI, and Harold Lasswell, a political scientist, led the efforts to develop techniques of "persuasion". Christopher Simpson in his excellent book Science of Coercion described their perspectives this way:

Persuasive communication aimed at largely disenfranchised masses [meaning that they have no political party serving their interests] became central to Lippmann's strategy for domestic government and international relations. He saw mass communication as a major source of the modern crisis and as a necessary instrument for any managing elite. The social sciences offered tools that could make administration of what would otherwise be highly unstable social structure relatively rational and effective, he contented. In an era when methods of social supervision in industrial societies still mainly consisted of guns and policemen's clubs, many academics and intellectuals hailed Lippmann's insights as enlightened and humane. [my insertion]

Lasswell extended the idea, giving it a Machiavellian twist. He emphasized employing persuasive media and selectively using assassinations, violence, and other coercion as means of " communicating" with and managing disenfranchised people. He advocated what he regarded as "scientific" application of persuasion and precise violence, in contrast to bludgeon tactics. 

The Reich Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945 was also fascinated by how people could be manipulated to commit acts which they would otherwise not do through the use of propaganda that served the interests of the German ruling capitalist class in Germany. Remember this famous quote of his?

If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.

After WWII, Simpson wrote (with extensive supporting documentation) that US networks fostered by lucrative government contracts arose among propaganda warfare veterans, and soon they were put to work perfecting their techniques through a series of legislation that produced the CIA (and other secret services) and signed off by the naive President Harry Truman. Truman in his earlier political career was carefully groomed for a political offices and influenced by the Pendergast mob of Kansas City, Missouri. He was the "lipstick on the pig" of nefarious influences which proved useful for fascists to use him to pursue their post-war anti-Soviet agendas and grow their Empire.

The CIA has continued to infiltrate all corporate media and Hollywood to insure that they all tell the same lies (see this). Not only in the USA, but in major media corporations in the Empire (see this--it should be noted that Ulfkotte "conveniently" died of a "heart attack" in 2017.). Now media corporations can broadcast their "realities" everywhere at the same time, and Hollywood can repeat these lies in their films. The Deep State through its secretive spy agencies have in realty accomplished what Goebbels said what was needed. This might be referred to as "full-spectrum psychological warfare dominance" over the working classes. 

Thus, today Americans believe all kinds of nonsense about their society and those abroad. Americans can only oppose this powerful class of capitalists by collectively organizing against them, but that takes a collective, dramatic rise of consciousness about the reality of class rule. This consciousness has been substantially erased by the intentional corruption of media and all ideological institutions.

Savagery and Its Promoters and Profiteers

I wrote the words "some sort of book review" to indicate that Swanson does not offer any comment on Blumenthal's book. Swanson seems to take Blumenthal's interpretations of major political events in the past several decades at face value. In fact, he soon gives up any attempt at evaluation of his arguments and starts listing all of Blumenthal's interpretations of these events. 

Blumenthal apparently believes that Arab jihadists had it in for America because of misguided policies that ultimately targeted Arabs but were designed to be against the former Soviet Union. As for 9/11, well that was a tragic incident that our incompetent government allowed to happen, and that "9/11 Truthers" were taking attention "away from what the U.S. government had done to provoke those crimes and to allow them to occur." The inescapable implication of all this is that our government pursued reckless and mistaken policies against the Soviet Union using fanatics and backing countries like Saudi Arabia. If our government had not pursued such policies, all would be well in the world.

I haven't read the book; but if Swanson's reporting is correct, I think that Blumenthal is running some sort of damage control for the Deep State's policies, and he may be employed by them to do just that. The only way that such "alternative" political analysts will be believed if they offer some form of "red meat" to the howling dogs of left-wing critics. Blumenthal appears to have done just that by his online posts criticizing US policies in Venezuela and in the Middle East. However, by characterizing US policies as only mistakes, he relieves the government of major responsibility of criminal acts. Worst of all, he impugns the work of "9/11 Truthers", the efforts of architects and engineers, to obtain the real story of 9/11! It's hard not to believe that he is, in reality, running some sort of damage control among those left-wing critics who have been exposed to evidence of major crimes, coverups, and criminal deceptions engineered by the Deep State via their government officials.
