The censorship of information is at an all time high, but do people really recognize the extent to which it has been and is being carried out? A recent article published in the British Medical Journal by journalist Laurie Clarke has highlighted the fact that Facebook has already removed at least 16 million pieces of content from its platform and added warnings to approximately 167 million others. YouTube has removed nearly 1 million videos related to, according to them, “dangerous or misleading covid-19 medical information.” 
This is the latest panel discussion hosted by the International Manifesto Group on Sunday 13th June 2021.
 
Economic sanctions are becoming an increasingly popular foreign policy instrument in Western countries, deployed alone or in conjunction with military and/or diplomatic interventions to achieve strategic political and policy goals, such as ostensibly protecting individuals and states from the behaviour of wrongdoers. Because economic sanctions are considered less violent than direct military assault, they are often supported by many on the left and the peace movement, who reluctantly accept the policy as a necessary evil.

This panel, part of a broader series on sanctions, will focus on their public health effects, through an analysis of five case studies: Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Syria and Iran. All but one of these countries are currently under sanctions by both Canada and the United States.
 
(Note: This post is only Beeley's contribution to this discussion regarding Syria as a victim of economic sanctions that was a part of the general discussions about the effects, particularly on small countries, from the use of economic sanctions. Only large, financially stable nations like Russia and China can prevent sanctions from doing major damage to their nations.)
 
My reaction: The weapon of economic sanctions is the 21st century's weapon of choice that formerly was accomplished by what Gen. Smedley Butler referred to as a "racket" that was the weapon of choice for the US prior to WWII. (After WWII such invasions were replaced by subversive actions. Economic sanctions were added to subversive efforts in the 21st century. This was especially evident in Syria, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran.) Butler was referring to the invasions of Latin American countries, much like organized crime used in major North American cities, to threaten small businesses with harm if they didn't financially dole out bribes to Mafia figures to prevent further harm. 
Naomi Karavani focuses on Jeff Bezos and Amazon.com, Inc. in this Weekly Offensive. Bezos recently announced his plan to head to space on a commercial flight with his company Blue Origin. The announcement of his space flight came amid a flurry of bad press over tax evasion, questions about antitrust violations, Amazon's $8.45 billion purchase of MGM, and a global corporate tax proposal from the G7 that could leave Amazon out.

Joe Biden’s asked US intelligence to investigate the origins of the deadly disease, and RT’s investigative journalist and No BS host Ben Swann is doing the same. He’ll be talking to political commentator Einar Tangen in Beijing, law professor Elaine Fahey and Nicolas Wade, one of the first journalists to report on the possibility of the Wuhan “lab-leak”.
The only thing I object to in this post is Romanoff's statements that imply that "Jews" are responsible for media propaganda that comprises a lie attached to a truth. He violates his own thesis that media propaganda is a lie attached to a truth. He seems to equate Zionists with Jews, but clearly not all Jews are Zionists. 
 
Jews were first identified with leftist Jews after the Russian Revolution by fascists in Western capitalist circles, most notably by pro-capitalist Nazis but also including major capitalists like Henry Ford. Clearly Jews, like any other ethnic group, have beliefs across the political spectrum from right (fascist-capitalists) to left (communist-socialists). Otherwise, his arguments are correct: capitalist propagandists mix truth with falsities in order to defend and advance their class interests.
Elite institutions in the past and doubtless still today have been major playgrounds for intelligence services. The history of the modern nation-state generally, not just the USA, seems to suggest that national unity — and therefore elite safety — is regarded by elites as achievable only through careful management and often suppression or diversion of dissent. Far more resources are typically committed to this than many citizens, drilled in the propaganda of democracy, realize or care to concede. [my emphasis]

Doctors in India are big fans.  
Maybe the virus was grown in a lab, maybe it just jumped from bats to people. Since all evidence suggests it’s not very dangerous, it doesn’t really matter.

The debate sure does make a good distraction though. 
 
Does it matter that many after the age of 70 died from it if it was designed and used as a bioweapon for whatever purpose? What about all the severe restrictions on people's civil rights that were dictated by various governments of the world based on the declaration of WHO that the threat constituted a pandemic and the virtual diktats by the CDC or similar agencies throughout governments of the world? What about the censorship that was imposed on many other relevant medical specialists who differed about various aspects of the declared pandemic?

I remember one of the first acts formally announcing a Cold War against the Soviet Union after the conclusion of WWII (1st article) was Winston Churchill's speech in Fulton, Missouri (with Pres. Harry Truman on the stage) in 1946 declaring that an "iron curtain has descended" across Europe. This was a shock to the American people because we had been allied in WWII with the Soviet Union against the Axis powers.

This was followed a year later with the Un-American Activities Committee investigations of Hollywood playwrights, directors, and actors that weren't sufficiently anti-communist enough to suit the interests of the capitalist ruling class. This constituted a major purge of all left-wing influential people associated with the Hollywood film industry in order to stifle any kind of dissent and further propagandize people into smearing any kind of socialism. Churchill's visceral hatred of the Russian Revolution and his role beginning with the capitalist intervention in the Russian Civil War made him an exceptionally qualified person (in the eyes of the ruling capitalist class) to announce this new effort against the Soviet Union. 
If Biden were genuinely interested in learning how to prevent a future pandemic he would be exploring how to prevent zoonotic spillovers, both in nature, and in the lab. On the other hand, if he’s interested in tarring the reputation of a country he has labelled a competitor, as his predecessor was, he is proceeding along the right path. Unfortunately, that path has nothing to do with protecting humanity from future pandemics.

  • Fact Checkers Take A Beating On Lab Leak Theory featuring Jimmy Dore of The Jimmy Dore Shows channel on YouTube. (Note: Dore goes on an appropriate rant about ruling class "fact-checkers", censorship practiced by ruling class corporate media, and both of their records of contradictions. He also puts Matt Taibbi, a journalist, on the podcast to comment on this subject.) My reaction: It's only realistic to assume that the consolidation and concentration of wealth, which is a core feature of capitalism, also gives the rich control over all of mainstream media--as well as all other institutions. Taibbi essentially explains that all the issues related to this subject can be explained by "politics". This is a shorthand way to obscure the problem of issues. Social-economic class conflict is the root cause of most social-economic issues, which is a recognition that class matters, and that a particular issue is a conflict between the rich ruling class and the working class. This view is verboten in capitalist USA.
  • The U.S.' latest COVID-19 lab leak theory push is a distraction by Andrew Korybko from CGTN, a major Chinese online news website. (Note: Now that the ruling class has suddenly shifted its main enemy from Russia to China--because of the stupendous rise of China as an economic powerhouse--in a major effort to prevent a powerful Russia-China combination, Korybko sees major problems for ruling class propagandists to fool Americans once again.)

(Note: Now that the billionaire ruling class has gotten rid of the upstart and unauthorized (by them) Trump, their propaganda efforts through their media corporations focuses on rampant crime in American to counter the defund-the-police movements.) ... when it comes to Western power, I think something more fundamental is taking place than normal biases and differences of opinion. Indeed, it is standard – even when it comes to the most vicious applications of British and American foreign policy – that Western mainstream media simply ghosts pivotal critical content that is staring it right in the face.
 
(Note: You will need to know what "ghosts" (def. #3) mean as used as a transitive verb.) My reaction: Alford doesn't elaborate on his implication of "something more fundamental is taking place than normal biases and differences of opinion". Let me explain what the "something" is: it's blatant censorship.
From the beginning of the twentieth century until 1929, purveyors of record players, radios, sheet music, and musical instruments had made large fortunes and proved useful in forging a culture with which people in the United States could identify. In many ways, the music industry was a nation-building force, which the country’s rulers needed to legitimize and propagate their claims. Now, after almost total collapse during the depression, the industry reestablished itself with new instruments, new sounds, and, above all, a new public attuned to bright lights and the big city.
 
In this context, the revival of folk music—that is, music derived from rural southern sources, unamplified, and, to a large extent, comprised of old songs of anonymous origin—was more than just another fad. Folk music encapsulated longings for an idyllic past, for a time before crass commercialism turned music into a commodity, and for relationships between musicians and audiences that were egalitarian and holistic. Folk music continues to have an appeal for these reasons today. 
 
My reaction: This post provides a real history of a cultural movement that was a threat to the ruling class which decided to launch an empire combining their military dominance with what was left of the British Empire. They smeared this folk music movement as Russian-Communist inspired. These folk musicians were hounded and persecuted by the FBI in an effort to destroy it. This cultural phenomenon flourished in the post-WWII years when the fascist coup began with the use of the atomic bomb in Japan and continued with the McCarthy attacks on anyone who dared to voice opinions different from what the ruling class coup-leaders allowed. But they could not destroy it until the conclusion of the Vietnam War when this folk music movement and their influence also ended. After that, youth devoted themselves to "turning-on and dropping-out" to the Beetles tunes and rock-and-roll music. Now we see the same ruling class, which owns nearly everything and able to censor at will, able to pull-off successfully 9/11, the Iraq invasion, and the current pandemic with its lockdowns, shutting small businesses, and vaccines which hugely profits the pharmaceutical corporations with the latter immune from prosecution when their vaccines harm people.   • Biggest Cover-Up Since Iraq Exposed by Journalist Aaron Maté and featuring Jimmy Dore,  exposing the lies related to the coverup of the official OPCW investigation of chemical weapons used by the Syrian government against their own people. (Note: Aaron Maté has especially devoted lot of work in uncovering this major censorship story. Read this, this, and this for starters, only a part of which I posted many articles on my website.) My reaction: the concentration of ownership of corporations of the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire has gone on so long that the CIA and other secretive "intelligence" agencies have over the past 75 years completely turned US, other foreign media corporations, and even some UN agencies toward serving the agenda of world conquest by the Empire. This is understandable when you've seen Bill Gates, as a top funder of the UN's World Health Organization (notice how this is reported in US media corporations--often their reporting is only listed by governments.), overwhelmingly adopt measures advocated by Gates with the latter billionaire influencing the coverage of international media corporations.
  • 💥Brave New Cancel Culture World by Pepe Escobar from "The Saker" weblog. This is a best post. (Note: You should be familiar with the terms "woke revolution" (see this and this) and "cancel culture" (see this and this).) My reaction: I commonly consider the first term as meaning "to wrap yourself in virtue" which implies a fake ethical position, and a corollary of that is "cancel culture" which is used to mean that you don't have to listen to anybody if they offend you, and in order to justify censorship or the allegation of "fake news). The ruling class uses the latter term to shame those they consider "anti-vaxxers", to justify the denial for such people to access to private and public services, and to censor opinions that differ from what the ruling class approves. I consider both terms to be useful for the ruling class to justify their policies of self-serving virtue and intolerance of those opposing their diktats (def.).

The most important axiom for understanding how the U.S. corporate media functions is that there is never accountability for those who serve as propagandists for the U.S. security state. The opposite is true: the more aggressively and recklessly you spread CIA narratives or pro-war manipulation, the more rewarded you will be in that world.
 
That is why sociopaths perform so well for their masters--people like Jeffrey Epstein and his pals in the ruling class. They follow the Margaret Thatcher amoral principle, you know, "there is no such thing as society, there are only individuals and their families". That is why they had to kill Epstein. That is why drug corporations are making billions of dollars off vaccines which they cannot be sued due to any damages or deaths. 
  • The Day The World Ended by Caitlin Johnstone, an Australian independent blogger from her weblog. My reaction: I often imagine this event.
  • A Tightening Circle of Replacement Politics by Alastair Crooke from Strategic Culture Foundation. (Note: You will need to know what "Fifth-generation warfare" means.) My reaction: Crooke describes the directors of the ruling class as inconsistent in their pursuance of policies. It could be an expression of desperation or a designed "replacement politics" to further manipulate ordinary Americans? Who knows? But if I were a betting man, I would place my money on the latter. The directors of the ruling capitalist class, who really run our government, have long been practicing 5th generation war on ordinary Americans, and out of habit they are doing it again--but at an accelerated pace wrapping themselves in virtue: adopting minority causes and "cancelling culture" of their adversaries. But it's all fakery!

Thus they, or the authoritative talking-heads you see on TV, read scripts that wrap themselves in virtue and censor all ideas that don't fit with the American goose of capitalism, a goose which continues to lay so many golden eggs for billionaires.
That we live on a hugely degraded, biologically impoverished planet, in which natural ecosystems are battered, abused, barely clinging on, is now emerging into public consciousness. But the corresponding rise of the superweed, and increasing vulnerability of our crop species, has yet to so register.

Were we not so technology obsessed, were we not so greedy, were we not so terrified of insecurity and death, if we did not see our bodies and minds as separate, and humans as separate from everything else, we might pause to ponder whether our approach is not a little misguided.

Science and technology can be wonderful things. They can advance our knowledge of ourselves and the world we inhabit. But they need to be conducted with a sense of humility we increasingly seem incapable of. We are not conquerors of our bodies, or the planet, or the universe – and if we imagine we are, we will soon find out that the battle we are waging is one we can never hope to win.

My reaction: With Zionist players like this, what's to worry us? Except maybe a global nuclear war.
As the China-Russian-Iran alliance continues to gain new momentum spreading win-win cooperation and development across Asia, Africa and the World, the dying unipolar system run by detached militarists, financiers and technocrats is doubling down on its weird mix of 1) a “scorched earth” offensive threat to “dissuade” China and Russia from continuing on their current trajectory and 2) a “positive” green game on which nations are invited to tie their destinies as an alternative to China’s BRI [Belt and Road Initiative].   • World Wide Rally For Freedom featuring James Corbett and James Evan Pilato in a 28:34m video first commenting on media corporation's reporting on the upcoming worldwide protests of the pandemic restrictions. After about 18 minutes they talk about censorship issues.
The ruling capitalist class has used the social identity trick for many years to elect first Barack Obama and then in their attempt to elect Hillary Clinton. Now they have expanded their scope of operations to other social identity groups and smear anyone who challenges them (in addition to anyone who questions their pandemic policies). They do this in order to divide us into hating each other, to distract us from forming other ideas that might be influenced by class politics, and to divert our attention away from real issues of inequality under a capitalist system. 
 
I think they expanded their psychology operation to extend to other identity groups after they failed to elect Hillary Clinton to the presidency. But they saw it as useful because it greatly influenced the upper-middle-class of college-educated professionals which is their core constituency. They drew on their highly trained advertising and public relations experts to study how to "sell" ruling class policies to the rest of the American society. I think Eric London was right when he wrote the following:
 
Identity politics has become a key mechanism through which the next 9 percent situated below the top 1 percent advances its grievances within the political establishment, fighting for “space” in the universities, trade unions, political parties, state apparatus, and corporate media. This layer, which forms a principal social base for the Democratic Party, is generally pro-war and supportive of the right-wing policies that have produced a soaring stock market. 
 
Comics like Jimmy Dore exposed their feminist trick, and radical film reviewers like Michael Walsh did likewise in his review of Hollywood film. Satirists like CJ Hopkins cited in 2018 the advantages that this project of social identity had for our masters in the ruling class. He argued that its appeal extended to other groups and all classes of society. But our masters didn't quit--they had finally found the magic key to the manipulation of the general population. 
 
Over the years the public opinion shapers improved on his project by using it against major dissidents to control and limit their influence on the general population. They discovered last year the benefits of declaring a pandemic: it enabled them to add censorship to their project by using "fact- checkers" to prohibit the use of privately owned social platforms by disobedient dissidents in order to limit their influence. Now they have turned their new weapon on the likes of Glenn Greenwald and Katie Herzog whose writings challenged their newfound weapon. This could not be tolerated. The two in this post, besides commiserating with each other, explain the victimization as a phenomenon of recent converts to prior forbidden social identities as the source of the attacks on them. However, unlike Walsh and Hopkins, the two do not explicitly link this recent persecution to a ruling class that doesn't like their brand of independent journalism.
  • The Puppet Masters: Is There Really a Deep State? by Philip Geraldi from Strategic Culture Foundation (based in Russia, but independent and international). My reaction: For a long time I have suspected Geraldi to be an agent of one of the Empire's many secret services, and now I am sure. You see, they have heavily infiltrated many news agencies located in the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire in order to shape public opinion according to the orders of the Deep State. For the past several years Geraldi has posed as a supporter of Palestinian rights and in opposition to Israeli policies to the extent that one could label him with an anti-Semitic bias. However, now that he is firmly established in various publications and has collected an audience of mostly left-wingers, his bosses in the Deep State ordered him to obscure the CIA, the foremost US secret service, and gaslight the Deep State, the hidden, real government of the USA. In this article he poo-poos the concept of a Deep State, reverses the role they play in relation to their secret services, and he conflates the term "Deep State" with "establishment". Contrary to his assertion, the concept of "deep state" was not coined by a Turkish author, but by Peter Dale Scott. You see, for more than 50 years, I have observed and read about the subversive actions of the CIA, the hidden government represented by the Deep State, and I've developed an advanced "nose" for detecting such fake opinion-shapers. In this case, the stench is overwhelming.
  • Myanmar: Hidden Opposition Violence by Brian Berletic from his weblog Land Destroyer Report. My reaction: I have covered Berletic's reports, when he was known as "Tony Cartalucci", for many years, and I've always found them to be reliable. In this post he takes a report from a Western news agency and shows by reading line by line how it is scripting reports from other "color revolutions", whose activists are funded via Western NGOs, to hide what is really going on--starting a revolution in Myanmar.

Although Greenwald lambasts the journalist profession with a "holier than thou" tone, he only lamely examines the reasons why most of the profession has been corrupted. It is the corruption of this profession that is the root of so much ignorance among ordinary Americans about what their ruling class and its government are doing. 
 
The corruption of government is another subject that needs exploring by brave (suicidal) people, and a few are doing this. Many members of the legal profession, of which Greenwald is a member, collude in government with liars in the secret services, corporation execs, and the whole fascist Deep State. Maybe he should stick to his own profession with his lofty principles. It is the story that needs to be reported, but a relatively few people are doing it, and mostly in alternative media. These few courageous people are constantly faced with innumerable difficulties such as begging for funding from the public, lack of resources to do their job, constantly labeled by mainstream journalists as engaging in "conspiracy theories", and under constant attack by ruling class censors posing as "fact-checkers", etc.
 
The major problem is the overwhelming power of the capitalist leviathan that has grown to the fascist monster that it is during the past several hundred years. Oh, it was cute as an infant and few people saw that it had the potential to become the bête noire that it is today. Nowadays, it is in control of an empire, all institutions therein, control of nearly all jobs and careers, and in control of resources, wealth, and power that could only be dreamed about by earlier ruling classes.

(Note: Escobar, a Brazilian journalist, brings his great geopolitical expertise to focus on two meetings between two top antagonists--the super-aggressive US/Anglo/Zionist Empire versus those nations (Russia-China-Iran alliance) which insist on a multipolar world. You will need to know what he means when he references "the Quad"; also here are the lyrics to Caroline Says II.)
  • DISCUSS: President Magufuli dead at 61 from Off-Guardian. My reaction: This is what invariably happens to those leaders who oppose the Empire's policies and actions. The leaders don't even have to be from a foreign country. The assassination of the Kennedy brothers demonstrates this.

My reaction: This post is a most revealing exposé of identity politics ("wokeism") and how it is used to legitimize the most heinous acts and policies of the capitalist ruling class both within and without the USA. This strategy has its roots in the advanced technology of advertising so necessary to sell all the shoddy and unnecessary products of late-stage capitalism--the selling of anything.
  • Do U.S. and UK Have the World’s Most-Censored Press? by Eric Zuesse from Strategic Culture Foundation. My reaction: Although Zuesse avoids Marxist terms like ruling class, and instead prefers feudal words like "aristocracy" because a Marxist lexicon is verboten in the advanced capitalist societies, his description of the ruling class and their fake version of democracy is "spot-on".
Wet bulb temperature sounds almost comical, but the implications of it's [sic] extremes could not be more serious. And as our planet's atmosphere continues to warm, our tropical regions move ever closer to posing that existential threat to billions of people.
