We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Millions of Muslims March Against ISIS During Pilgrimage and Mainstream Media Completely Ignores It

Click here to access article by Matt Agorist from The Free Thought Project

The author, who is a former US Marine, NSA intelligence operator, and now independent journalist, writes about a huge gathering in Karbala, Iraq of Shia Muslims who have been targeted by ISIS, the fundamentalist terrorist organization sponsored and trained by Saudi-Qatari regimes and Empire allies.
Many of the stories on Muslims in the U.S. that make it on to the mainstream are those that stoke divide. When a Muslim hero saves hundreds of lives by jumping on a bomb — which actually happened in July — the mainstream and the Islamophobic alternative media is mum.

Those who would judge 1.6 billion people by the actions of just a few are creating a narrative in which innocent lives are put in danger.

Throughout history, most mainstream religions have perpetuated extreme violence upon the world. To attempt to paint Islam as the problem is no better than labeling all Catholics murders for the inquisition.

But peace and empathy are enemies to the establishment who need you to hate others. When the establishment can paint things as black and white, it is easier for you to be controlled. Consequently, this is the exact mission of ISIS
[and their sponsors in the US Empire and medieval Arab allies].

Saudi Arabia Cuts Heads to Make a Point

Click here to access article by Jeremy Salt from The Palestine Chronicle.
By deliberately provoking Iran Saudi Arabia is reasserting itself as the guardian of Sunni orthodoxy. There is little or no respect for the government of Saudi Arabia and its royal family in the Muslim world but sectarianism has muddled many minds and pushed to make a choice between Saudi Arabia and Iran, the great majority of Sunnis will come in behind the Saudis. So will the US. Having persuaded Iran to sign a nuclear agreement which very much damages Iranian national sovereignty, the Americans have already begun welching on the deal by raising the possibility of new sanctions. It has criticized the execution of Sheikh Nimr but in any new standoff between the Saudis and Iran it also will throw its support behind the Saudi government. Israel – Saudi Arabia’s half covert ally – will naturally welcome the re-ignition of confrontation with the government of the Islamic republic.Saudi Arabia is in the throes of an acute multifaceted existential crisis.

Is the next threat too many 'them' in a resource-scarce future?

Click here to access article by Nafeez Ahmed from Middle East Eye.

Read the article to see how Ahmed comes to this conclusion:
The uncanny alignment here between the bigoted rhetoric of far-right extremists, and the calculated strategic planning of the Western and Israel security elite, speaks to a fundamental problem: the extremism of the far-right is being fuelled by the paranoia of an interlocking security elite.
Their ideologically driven response to global systemic crises springs from the same false, narcissistic diagnosis: this system is pretty much the best there is; there’s no alternative, and therefore, we must maintain business-as-usual (and concomitantly, our privilege) as long as possible, while fending off “threats” to the system from those who fail to understand this. It so happens that those who fail to understand this comprise most of the world’s population.

Iran Sends Missiles to Iraq: US Finally Shows Concern for Sectarianism, Civilian Casualties

Click here to access article by Jim White from emptywheel.
The hubris involved in the US suggesting that Iran’s missiles could inflame sectarianism or cause civilian casualties is nothing short of staggering. But none of the idiots engaging in this hand-wringing will ever be forced to account for the real source of sectarian tensions and civilian casualties in Iraq.
Stirring up sectarian tensions has been a primary strategy of the Zionist-conservatives (euphemistically known as neocons) that have taken control of US foreign policies in the Middle East since 9/11. All actions toward this end have been supported by these ideologues whose interest was/is to encourage Muslims to kill other Muslims.

Before the US-British invasion of Iraq the relations between Muslim sects were very much like the various denominations of Christians in the US. But soon after the invasion we started reading reports of mysterious bombings of mosques in Iraq and the blame put on other Muslim sects. Then there was the mysterious report of British soldiers dressed up like Arabs who were arrested by Iraqi police for carrying numerous weapons and explosives. Following their arrest they were just as mysteriously rescued by the British army using tanks in an assault on the prison where they were being held. No official explanation was ever offered and the story soon disappeared down the capitalist media black hole.

Paris Shootings: Maybe the Last Piece of a Horrible Puzzle

Click here to access article by Henry Kamens from New Eastern Outlook.

Kamens is referring to the puzzle of many mysterious, unconvincing assassinations and "terrorist" events in the past 50 plus years some of which he reviews and finds similar elements appearing in the Paris shootings.
The United States has spent several years installing a bunch of Moslems, initially Chechens but now also from other countries, in the Pankisi Gorge in Georgia. It trains them there in irregular warfare and forms them into a mobile “hit squad” which commits “terrorist atrocities” in different parts of the world when it suits US interests to intervene in those countries.

These atrocities are then blamed on “Islamic fundamentalists”, but are actually committed by these US-sponsored individuals, selected and trained for the purpose, who are not native to those countries but are sent to each place as needed.

The West is Manufacturing Muslim Monsters

Click here to access article by Andre Vltchek from CounterPunch.

Vltchek examines the great history of Muslim nations and its decline since WWII engineered by the capitalist Empire which he refers to as the "West".
From the hopes of those post-WWII years, to the total gloom of the present days – what a long and terrible journey is has been!

The Muslim world is now injured, humiliated and confused, almost always on the defensive.

It is misunderstood by the outsiders, and often even by its own people who are frequently forced to rely on Western and Christian views of the world.

What used to make the culture of Islam so attractive – tolerance, learning, concern for the wellbeing of the people – has been amputated from the Muslim realm, destroyed from abroad. What was left was only religion.

Now most of the Muslim countries are ruled by despots, by the military or corrupt cliques. All of them closely linked with the West and its global regime and interests.

Political Islam’s Moment of Reckoning

Click here to access article entitled "Political Islam’s Moment of Reckoning" by Bilal El-Amine from Al Akhbar.

When I read an article like this which focuses on Egypt, I come to an even greater realization of the many opportunities for Empire-Zionist agents to exploit Arab sectarian differences.

Meanwhile, Empire agents have been supporting the development of a "secularized" Egyptian army leadership with close ties to their Western military counterparts, and a leadership thoroughly indoctrinated in the Western religion of capitalism based on their ownership of large sections of the Egyptian economy.

If this article's description of the political IQ of ordinary Egyptians is accurate, then I fear for their liberation. My faith continues to be with the ability of ordinary Egyptians to learn where their real interests lie.

Was Tamerlan Tsarnaev a Double Agent Recruited by the FBI?

Click here to access article by Peter Dale Scott posted on WhoWhatWhy.

I have followed the writings of this Canadian author for more than 40 years. He is a former diplomat and professor of English at the U. of California (Berkeley). He has made a second career writing about, and exposing, the many subversive actions of US secret services. I regard his writing material as a completely reliable source of information and analysis.

In addition to presenting a number of puzzling facts about the older Tsarnaev brother, I think the most valuable section is the last quarter where he describes the methods used by the FBI to recruit informants and patsy "terrorists".

All the evidence suggests to me that Tamerlan was not a double-agent, he was recruited like so many Muslims to be set up in a "terrorist" event.

Such events accomplish two purposes: the demonization of Muslims and the justification for eliminating more civil rights and increasing surveillance of Americans--in other words, the construction of a police state. It seems to me that our One Percent masters, in this age of instant global communications, no longer trust their control over media, the movie industry, and educational institutions to keep us in ignorance. They now have to use fear.

Shamiur Rahman: NYPD Paid Me To 'Bait' Muslims Into Saying Things About Jihad, Terrorism

Click here to access article by Adam Goldman and Matt Apuzzo of AP via Huffington Post.

At last we have an inside story from a young American Muslim on how the New York City police recruited, paid, and used him to spy on various domestic and foreign Muslim students. He also had some minor drug infractions which the police took care of in exchange for his cooperation.
A paid informant for the New York Police Department's intelligence unit was under orders to "bait" Muslims into saying inflammatory things as he lived a double life, snapping pictures inside mosques and collecting the names of innocent people attending study groups on Islam, he told The Associated Press.
Shamiur Rahman, a 19-year-old American of Bangladeshi descent who has now denounced his work as an informant, said police told him to embrace a strategy called "create and capture."

WikiLeaks: America’s Shia Tools in Lebanon

Click here to access article by Sabah Ayoub from Al Akhbar

Wikileaks scores again! This time it is through intercepted cables between the embassy in Lebanon and Washington; cables which illustrate how the ongoing use of bribes and other rewards are used to undermine political processes in targeted countries via NGO financing to serve the interests of the Empire.
...as the leaked cables demonstrate, even the US diplomats were surprised by the enthusiasm, courage and initiative shown by some informers. From 2006 to 2010, these individuals and others provided the US embassy with detailed information and analyses on every arcane issue the embassy had inquired about – and sometimes even without it asking.
This select series of cables highlight the US plan and identifies some of the Lebanese Shia proxies used to implement it, including politicians, civil society activists and clerics.
(There are still many ways to donate money to Wikileaks to support their efforts and Julian Assange and Bradley Manning in their legal battles.)

Sinister September: Zionist Anti-Islam Plot Simmering

Click here to access article by Ismail Salami from The Palestine Chronicle.

More than the recent film, the author writes about all the current and recent efforts of anti-Islamists and Zionists to defame Islam which mainstream media mostly ignores. He paints a much larger, more serious picture that suggests an international campaign.
...western mainstream media try to deceive public opinion and interpret the making of the film in the light of freedom of speech. Hurting the sentiments of over one billion Muslims across the world does not fit in the definition of freedom of speech. In fact, it is an affront not only to all the Muslims but also to believers of all faiths and religions.

A Map of Muslim Protests Around the World

Click here to access source of mapping done by John Hudson from The Atlantic.

This poster provides a larger map of protests in the article. Of course, this liberal publishing source follows the script of Empire operatives by attributing all the protests as stemming only from the anti-Islam film.

The Feds are watching -- badly

Click here to access article by Yael Chanoff and Natalie Orenstein from San Francisco Bay Guardian Online.

People are examining thousands of documents obtained by the SF Bay Guardain, the ACLU, and The Asian Law Caucus and they are finding that racist stereotypes are being taught to identify various terrorist threats. The latter targets are Muslims, African Americans, Chinese, Russians, "anarchist extremists", and "animal rights/environmental extremists".
...after 9/11, the FBI prioritized terrorism investigations, a shift from the previous focus on criminal investigations. Classified as national security threats, these investigations are not subject to the same type of privacy and anti-racial discrimination protections that other criminal investigations might be. Terrorist threats, apparently, are to be found in mosques, in online conversations that involve criticism of US foreign policy, in entire populations of African Americans or Chinese Americans in given areas. In recent years, simply speaking Arabic online or being black makes a person a suspect and potential target of surveillance.
Political operatives of the One Percent see enemies everywhere. But what--me worry? As long as they don't come for me, why should I care? (sarcasm) But wait, I think I have criticized US foreign policy in my blog!

A New McCarthy?

by Helen Thomas from Falls Church News-Press
King's search would do best to ask why any Muslim would be against our great country which provides so many freedoms of speech, opinion and belief.

But he is not seeking in-depth answers. Is there any reason some Muslims might be unhappy that their home country was under attack by the U.S.?
This 90 year old fearless journalist who has won numerous journalism awards is now writing for this highly respected Virginia newspaper after having been a victim of a stealth attack from a Zionist reporter.

In this commentary she sees the same process at work with the current hearings on Muslims chaired by Rep. King with Sen. McCarthy's hearings during the anti-communist witch hunts of the early 1950s when the US ruling class was busy purging unions of militant leaders, and other left-thinking persons throughout US society.

Is Rep. King merely another right-wing bigot, a "useful idiot" who is being used by American Zionists to promote more pro-Israel policies, or is he being used by the ruling class to divide Americans as they have already done with their anti-immigrant campaigns? You know--the old divide and conquer strategy to divert attention away from the class war now being aggressively waged against American working people in the Mid-Western States? You decide.

Casting Out: Exploring the Racialization of Muslims

A book review authored by Fatemeh Fakhraie from Islam on My Side of the book entitled, Casting Out: Exploring the Racialization of Muslims by Sherene H. Razack.

The reviewer starts with this statement:
I just finished reading Sherene H. Razack’s [book]. And I gotta say, it blew me onto my ass.
...She uses plenty of theory and excellent cross-racial examples to illustrate that what’s currently happening to Muslims in the West (racialization that results in “the expulsion of Muslims from the political community, a process that takes the form of stigmatization, surveillance, incarceration, torture, and bombing”) has happened to other groups before.
This looks to me like a very important book to aid in our understanding of the apparent widespread phenomenon here in the US to stigmatize Muslims. I was made more aware of this dangerous trend from a recent trip to a rural area in central Washington state--Methow Valley. I picked up the small local newspaper in that area and read one hate filled letter to the editor regarding Muslims and a featured opinion piece that targeted Muslims by a local writer.

The Founding Fathers Weren't Anti-Islam

from Washington's Blog.

This great blogger delves into some early US history and attitudes expressed at that time with regard to Islam and other religions and comes up with some rather surprising stuff. This piece is a good antidote to all the right-wing hate propaganda that is now being implanted in the minds of so many Americans.

During a visit to Methow Valley in central Washington state a few days ago, I read some opinion pieces in the local paper that truly shocked me. It is apparent, far more than I previously thought, that the far-right nut fringe is having a lot of success in rural America in fostering hate against Muslims. Read about it in this link (not a permalink, so read it now) which shows in the last two items a letter to an editor followed by a featured opinion piece by a local writer, William Slusher.
