In this post she is obviously frustrated by all the verbal abuse she has been getting via Twitter and other social media from people who have succumbed to the hysteria that media corporations have been filling the airways with. In her home country of Australia, the citizens have been experiencing probably the most draconian measures ever (and likely the worst in the world) from government authorities over this covid-19 pandemic.  

This is the result of many years of brainwashing via disinformation and censorship spewed by capitalist's control of media, education, and entertainment in which they have scrubbed out real history and substituted self-serving propaganda and entertaining distractions. I fear the worst.

The social-democratic Zuesse must have had a very difficult time in dealing with this subject. I note that he references Jim Crow laws only once. This is much before the FDR administration that he so idolizes as an ideal America. He writes: 

The U.S. Constitution is by now just a string of words. America’s Founders are dead, gone, and no longer really even an influence. That’s the reality. 

In its original form the Constitution when it was written by "America's Founders" (often reverentially referred to as "Founding Fathers") favored the rich property owners. Contrast the latter document with the Declaration of Independence also written by "America's Founders" when they wanted citizens to take up arms for their cause of independence from Britain. Quite a difference, indeed! You see, the British government put up obstacles for the "Founding Fathers" in the form of taxes and restrictions on enterprises that would compete with British manufacturers.  

The "Founding Fathers" were overwhelmingly property owners of slaves who needed the latter to provide the labor to make them rich, never intended to include the "Bill of Rights". This was only forced upon them by citizens of the 13 colonies. And indeed, they never expected their militias and police forces to abide by the Bill of Rights. Police forces are the last defense against the people who are feared by all ruling classes. After nearly 150 years, this ruling class used the capitalist system to accumulate ownership and control over nearly all of the USA and much of the world. The crimes committed here by our masters are multiplied by at least a factor of 10 throughout much of the world.

Thus, I recommend only reading the first two paragraphs of the essay. The rest is absolute social-democratic rubbish.

Will Belarus Become the Next Banderastan? by "The Saker" (Andrei Raevsky) from The Unz Review. (Note: Raevsky uses an odd spelling ("Ianukovich") for the Western conventional spelling of "Yanukovych", the former head of the Ukrainian government.)

My commentary follows:

Raevsky is clearly the best informed writer on the web who understands what is going on in Belarus. The Empire is using their color-revolution strategies to subvert the Belarus's government and co-opt many opposition groups by funding the latter. I cannot understand why the opposing independent nations cannot come up with appropriate defense against these color revolutions. One would think that the Russian and Belarus leadership, after the Ukraine experience, would have devised effective counter strategies to prevent this from happening especially in a border state like Belarus.

Apparently only genuine democratic nations (instead of fake democracies) can withstand these strategies, but these nations have not yet appeared and I doubt that they will appear before climate destabilization puts an end to humans and most other species. If indeed by a miracle such nations did appear in the time remaining, it would still be too late to save humanity because climate destabilization has already set in. But this miraculous event would served to redeem (def) the human species for their roughly 10, 000 years of acceptance of self-serving ruling class societies.

This Canadian author and retired professor zeros in at the "reset" program that our billionaire masters have launched with the bailouts of major banks last fall and the current ongoing covid-19 pandemic. He illustrates, far better than I can, the arrogance of our masters in the capitalist ruling classes. They have launched this reset program filled with an excess of glowing promises, but what underlies this is a concern for their unsustainable system of capitalism and the dire prospect that their power and wealth will end with the impending global warming catastrophe. They entertain fantasies of high technologies that they will control to further control us ordinary humans as well as contribute to their wealth and power. Meanwhile, the professor catalogs their recent history starting with the elimination of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1999, 9/11 psy-ops, the wars on Muslims who are the enemies of Israel, the Israeli lobby influence, etc., and all the financial and political corruption that served to increase their wealth and power at the expense of ordinary humans. Why the latter evinces any trust in our overlords is a mystery to me.

These authorities and the UN's World Health Organization (WHO) know best, and the best weapon in this WHO sanctioned pandemic is vaccination.

Faith-based authorities have been used by all ruling classes since civilization was established around 10-12 thousand years ago. That is precisely why all ruling classes have used organized religions to bolster their authority. Science, as a rigorous evidence-based knowledge, has gradually freed humanity from the superstitions of religious faith. The Enlightenment period was especially celebrated by freeing humans from faith-based knowledge. Since then the benefit to the welfare of millions across the globe has been obvious. • Defund Fascism, Blue and Orange by Paul Street from CounterPunch. My commentary follows:

Although Street gives an accurate description of the largely colored underclass (but not exclusively so) of capitalist America, he ignores the indispensable part that fascism plays in capitalism to deal with the problem of surplus workers that is an integral part of capitalist rule. This I think largely comes from a misunderstanding of fascism which confuses many people in the USA. (This is not an accident: capitalist ideological agents carefully craft propaganda to confuse people on this subject and many others.)

Fascism is basically an attitude that encourages coercion in one form or another. The fundamental source of this attitude is from the capitalist morality as described by Margaret Thatcher: looking only to the welfare of the individual and of one's family:

 ...you know, there's no such thing as society. There are individual men and women and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look after themselves first.

Therefore fascist methods are employed to deal with capitalist's main antagonists (the unemployed, poverty stricken, etc, (and let us not forget other competitive capitalists), and they can range from the threat of violence to indirect forms by controlling jobs and careers (traditionally favored by capitalists) to controlling the narratives (including censorship) that shape people's understanding of issues. (Caitlin Johnstone writes extensively about the latter subject.) Nowadays the three are combined in various combinations.

This practice is the essence of soft fascism in contrast to the often hard fascism of German and Italian history (reliance on police terror). To be sure, the latter used elements of fake news and propaganda, but they relied on hard fascist methods because of the underdevelopment of propaganda during their rule.) • The Jakarta Method: How the U.S. Used Mass Murder To Beat Communism by Daniel Larison from The American Conservative. (Note: I'm posting this mainly because it offers lessons on the US political spectrum, and secondarily because it reminds us of the history of ruling class crimes. The conservatives who write for this website are often labeled as "paleoconservatives" (old-fashioned conservatives) in contrast to neoliberals, often referred to as "ziocons" (Don Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Dick Cheney, etc. most of whom were brought into government during Reagan's administration). Neoliberals or "ziocons" (because of strong Zionist influence) are favored by transnational capitalists who have aggressively pursued an empire compared to more nationalist conservatives who support national capitalist interests. I think that Fox News publishing empire has mixed feelings about Trump because of his more nationalist orientation in contrast with his aggressive foreign policies. Neoliberals have taken over control of the Democratic Party, whereas the paleoconservatives are mostly found in the Republican Party, but there is little of substance to differentiate the two-party system of the capitalist ruling class.)

• The Evilness of America’s Ruling Class by Eric Zuesse from Strategic Culture Foundation. My commentary follows:

Remarkably, Zuesse uses the term "ruling class" two times, but then reverts to using "oligarchy" and "aristocracy"--maybe he is progressing. Zuesse is the only social-democrat who is still frequently published on the internet. Most often social-democrats settle for highly regulated capitalism, but of course, capitalist ruling classes have always prevented this except during a period of extreme stress such as the Great Depression when there were only mild forms of regulation. Thus Zuesse always has fond memories of FDR.

"Ruling class" is a term used frequently by Marxist or revolutionary socialists to describe class structured societies that have existed since civilization was established around 10,000 years ago. The relations between social-democrats and Marxists have been contentious since the appearance of social-democrats mainly in Britain in the late 1800s. I suspect that such exponents saw that their careers were impaired by Marxist concepts, and to safeguard their careers, adopted this tame form of socialism. In the current USA only academic historians, who specialize in Marxist literature and are known as "Marxians", are allowed to work. Revolutionary Marxists were purged by the ruling class around 1950 during the McCarthy period (as explained by Bruce Lerro).

Most frequently Zuesse is listed as a "historian", sometimes as an "investigative historian". But I have never found his biography: where he was educated, the degrees he's earned, anything about his career, and where he worked as a historian. This is strange given that his articles have been published prolifically on the internet. Don't misunderstand me, I like many of his articles which contain many links to documentation that are overlooked by others. I only fault him for his social-democratic concepts which tend to hide the real nature of organized capitalist class rule by using terms such as "oligarchy" and "aristocracy".

I will attach it to the list of my recommended films only after viewing it to see if it meets my criteria for recommending it.) 11:00 PM CT--Note: After watching this old film about censorship, I realized that it was a liberal take on the theme of censorship back in mostly 2012. (The film was officially released in 2013.) Censorship and manipulation of the news is much more worse now than then, and I apologize for posting this. My excuse is that I am forced by time restrictions to make more snap judgements, and this permits errors to creep into my posts. I will try to avoid such errors in the future.

(My reaction is as follows: I have much respect for Nick Beams, a longtime socialist from Australia. Unlike most of the writers for this website, he consistently maintains his independence by reporting his independent views. But I've noticed a transition for this website from an independent voice of socialist writers to one of collaborating with the media corporations during this "pandemic" in order to exaggerate the fear aspects of the virus by posting articles about the dangers to workers. To be sure, those private enterprises that still employ workers ("essential workers") during this pandemic have little concern for the safety of workers as they do for the population at large, but the website has not run a single article regarding the fake and manipulated numbers that government authorities are reporting in order to spread fear. I have also noticed that Chairman David North has disappeared from the website. Could it be that he is ailing from the virus and has editorial control of website posts?)

• How the Fascists Won World War II by H. Bruce Franklin from CounterPunch. My reaction follows:

Franklin barely skims the surface of this phenomenon: the avoidance of Allied bombing in WWII to targets that had ties to Western capitalist corporations. I recommend that you read Trading with the Enemy by Charles Higham, Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler by Anthony Sutton, Nazi Nexus by Edwin Black, and Big Business and Hitler by Jacques Pauwels (the latest, and in my opinion, the best). Obviously, the same applies to plants owned by purely US corporations: Opel owned by General Motors and Ford-Werke. My clarification about WWII--see commentary.

• Black Labor from Chattel Slavery to Wage Slavery by Sam Marcy from Internationalist 360°. (My reaction: Nothing proves Marx's emphasis on labor than capitalists' use of slave labor to exploit the value they found in the Americas. Capitalists could conquer these territories but they could not exploit them. Early on, they couldn't get enough Europeans workers to come to the Americas so they had to engage in slave labor to exploit their new conquered territories.

As Marx was to write, “It is slavery that gave the colonies their value; it is the colonies that have created world trade, and it is world trade that is the precondition of large-scale industry. Thus slavery is an economic category of the greatest importance.”

• The Dollar Standard Slipping Out of Control? by Alastair Crooke from Strategic Culture Foundation. My commentary follows:
  

Crooke has an interesting background in British diplomacy, MI-6 spy analyst, and now geopolitical analyst. In this article he attempts to unravel the mysteries of global currencies, and in particular, the Federal Reserve's printing money and giving it mostly to US banks and corporations. His analysis explains this as an attempt to make US dollars cheaper and easier for the US government to pay off its soaring debts.

It is about U.S. explosive debt accumulation, on account of the Coronavirus lockdown. In a world where there is already over $100 trillion in dollar-denominated debt, on which the U.S. cannot default; nor will it ever be repaid. It can therefore only be inflated away. That is to say the debt can only be managed through debasing the currency. (Debt jubilees are viewed as beyond the pale.)

One thing to keep in mind: Control of the Federal Reserve lies mostly in the real ruling class that owns most of the USA--the financial and dominant part of the ruling capitalist class. However, these fabulously rich and powerful people are split between domestic financiers but are increasingly being challenged by transnational capitalists or "globalists". The latter see the cheapening of dollar as a hindrance to their transnational capitalist profits and are becoming worried about the US dollar as a prime global currency.

But keep in mind, these problems exist regardless of which capitalist party wins the elections. Elections are mostly irrelevant in this fake democracy in order to distract workers from the real issues. International workers, particularly highly skilled and trained workers who are essential to make economies run, have been largely co-opted with lucrative careers into serving capitalists. Capitalists have nothing much to do but to bet on stocks, bonds, and currencies in their Wall Street casinos. Meanwhile, ordinary workers are left to struggle to feed, clothe, and house their families on a planet that is increasingly threatened by global warming.
