We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

The Afghan war and the 'Grand Chessboard' Pt2 (10:26m video)

This concludes the interview with that great Cold Warrior, Zbigniew Brzezinski. He again downplays his role and US's in the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and their subsequent withdrawal. However, the evidence that the astute interviewer from Real News Network presents clearly links Brzezinski's/US's strategy to 9/11 and to the current war in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This a perfect example of "blowback" that so often happens after The Great Games that Brzezinski and members of the ruling class like to play have ended. In other words, the games that these war criminals play often result in the suffering of many millions of ordinary people like you and me.
