We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Libya "Vampire War" is About Oil, Lockerbie and CIA Heroin Op

by Susan Lindauer from OpEd News.

In the past week I have come across, more than ever, so many convincing conspiracy reports like this, and many from the past fifty years. It has literally boggled my mind. When this happens, I have to avoid them in order to preserve my mental health. I can't even bring myself to provide links or any references to these other reports. I'm just dumbfounded as to how they continue to get away with these crimes! It's clear that we are ruled by a class of criminals. There is little difference between them and Mafia types, and the two often collude to commit their crimes. Who are they? You ask.

Is it the one-percent of the wealthiest in our capitalist societies? They do have responsibility, but mostly the rich don't really want to know what is done with their money. So, they work through intermediaries like the Business Roundtable, the Council on Foreign Relations, and all the right-wing NGOs like The American Free Enterprise Institute and AIPAC. If necessary, the latter organizations in turn outsource the dirty work to the CIA who often use the services of the Mafia, drug cartels, and even secret operating groups within the US Armed Forces.

So, in view of the fact that more and more reports of criminal conspiracies are being reported, why don't more of the American people rebel? I think that they, like the rich, don't really want to know about these crimes. They resist them intensely, the reports are too disturbing. They would much rather continue watching "Desperate Housewives" and playing the lottery while believing the lies and the fairy tales about democracy, elections, and the American Way of Life.
