We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

We Can No Longer Afford Vulture Capitalism

This reads like a revolutionary manifesto. It is an urgent call for changing the present system of "vulture capitalism" into a "commonwealth structure".

Highly recommended.
We must first make all Americans aware of our present plight and then begin in all possible ways to overthrow the tyranny of cabal capitalism, producing material changes leading to political freedom and economic equality of opportunity. This will involve the public ownership of the means of production: companies, factories, businesses, institutions, etc. We can bring about these changes by joining with thinking citizens worldwide in specific initiatives such as boycotting, in citizen action groups available through progressive Internet sites, and through building cooperative commonwealth communities.
