in the time remaining, to help us understand how the man-made system of capitalism will lead to the extinction of our human species, and so many others.
We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Press was prone on drones, but cover blown
With the ruling class having such tight control over all major institutions, we must honor the courageous leakers and whistleblowers who expose their government's wrongdoing. However, because of their vulnerability to retaliation if their names are exposed, many will have to be unsung heroes.
The revelation here that there was a Justice Department memo justifying the government's killing of its own citizens on very nebulous grounds has stirred up a challenge to a fascist leaning government that is still pretending to function according to laws processed through legitimate political institutions. Now the ruling class, through their control of government and the media, are working overtime to cover their criminal actions and transform them into something that resembles the legitimate rule of law.
