in the time remaining, to help us understand how the man-made system of capitalism will lead to the extinction of our human species, and so many others.
We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Blood-soaked US Has No Business Opposing Sovereignty Plebiscites
It seems that democracy = elections is preached by the Empire except when it doesn't serve their needs. They also preach that violent attacks against an elected government is forbidden except when it serves the interests of the Empire as we've seen in Ukraine. It is quite amazing for me to see the media of the One Percent grappling with all these inconsistencies in their reports to the American populace. So far, to my bafflement, they seem to be succeeding or at least Americans appear not to be very bothered by them. Lindorff is bothered, and lays out all these inconsistencies in stark detail.
However, he goes too far with the statement that "voting can never be illegal.” Certainly the results of voting are illegal when voting or the counting of ballots is in any way rigged--we've seen that plenty of times in the US.
