in the time remaining, to help us understand how the man-made system of capitalism will lead to the extinction of our human species, and so many others.
We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

The Current Overproduction Crisis And War
Using another blogger's post about the ongoing real recession--not the fake recovery as advertised on TV--Bernhard points to some of the major contradictions of current capitalist policies that attempt to solve the ongoing economic crisis as well as what we can expect as likely solutions coming from our masters in capitalist ruling classes. The first one is highly unlikely, and the other one is too dreadful for ordinary people to contemplate. The only real solution, revolution, can only be implemented by a conscious Ninety-Nine Percent, and that doesn't look very promising right now.
The signs of the Empire's hyper-militaristic policies are everywhere. Just follow Stop NATO…Opposition to global militarism for a week and this will become very evident. I really don't think that our masters in our ruling class are so stupid as to think that they can intimidate the rulers of Russia and China with all these military threats. And given that the Russia-China alliance is very likely only to grow stronger, why not strike now? This I think likely characterizes the insane outlook of our Empire masters.
