We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Atmospheric carbon dioxide level hits all-time high

Scientists have noticed that the concentration of only one greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, in our atmosphere is accelerating. This trend, of course, is contrary to the demands of Extinction Rebellion Movement and the Green New Deal, both of whom are under the control of capitalist agents. In spite of their vocal opposition, capitalist ruling classes, who are insanely addicted to the pursuit of profits and power, will insure that this trend continues. We shall soon see a dramatic acceleration of this trend as feedback loops kick in. This will result in the eviction of humans, along with many other species, from their home and mother--planet Earth.
The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere increases every year, and the rate of increase is accelerating. The early years at Mauna Loa saw annual increases averaging about 0.7 ppm per year, increasing to about 1.6 ppm per year in the 1980s and 1.5 ppm per year in the 1990s. The growth rate rose to 2.2 ppm per year during the last decade. There is abundant and conclusive evidence that the acceleration is caused by increased emissions, Tans said.
