We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

While waiting for the ecosystem to collapse, I'm hearing sounds that suggest the destructive iceberg of the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire and its army, NATO, is breaking up. What do you think? Even Canada, the Empire's colony to the north, is part of this noisy background.

NATO summit dominated by growing inter-state conflicts

Click here to access article by Alex Lantier from World Socialist Web Site.

Lantier summarizes what I believe are the signs to the collapse of the capitalist US/Anglo/Zionist Empire which rose from the ashes of the German Nazi version of this capitalist Empire. WWII was not fought to end fascism as the Empire's propagandists want you to believe, but the ultimate contest between a German-capitalist led and a British-capitalist led fascist capitalism. The Nazi Empire was originally funded and supported by Western capitalists of all countries, but as soon as they saw Nazis stalled at the gates of Moscow, the capital of a first socialist experiment, they immediately allied themselves with the preservation of the British Empire. The current fascist Empire (in "democratic" clothes) has been the final result of the devastating conflict of WWII.

But this Empire is seeing its end days. To revise a weather folklore, I believe that the Empire will not go out like a lamb, but like a wounded lion which thrashes around to impress his fellow lions (capitalists) that he is still dominant among the creatures of the earth--think Bolivia and Venezuela after the Syrian debacle. The Fed is stuffing our failing banks with their "printed" money to stave of the massive debts that the Empire has created to impose its dominance on the rest of world. The signs are everywhere.

But let me not assure you that we residents of the Empire will not suffer "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune". The ensuing series of catastrophes will soon engulf us and end in the extinction of humans. In contrast to this inspiring video we are doomed as a species. We might have changed things back in 2012, but we surely can't while approaching 2020. The artillery of our oceans and skies are so locked and loaded with capitalist-produced carbon that our fate is already decided.

We are entering a new "brave world" in which our capitalist masters may still be brought to justice--hopefully! For us, this can only be a bitter-sweet reward to see that this class of sociopathic people, who have destroyed ours and so many other species, and whose exploitation of the Earth and all of its working people has brought them so much temporary wealth and power, will finally share in our fate--extinction.

  • President Morales Calls Out U.S. Foreign Policy as Trump Listens in UN Security Council Meeting, uploaded onto YouTube by Representative Press. (Note: especially watch until 6:25m.) I have a hunch that this was when the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire decided to get rid of Morales because he spoke too much truth in front of the Security Council of the United Nations--they wouldn't want to be embarrassed any further by Morales or anybody who speaks the truth. The same applies to independent journalists and real whistleblowers.

Deep Adaptation Forum and Extinction Rebellion in Britain

I have received posts from a serious climate activist about the activities of what I refer to as upper-middle class activists in Britain who identify as Deep Adaptation Forum and associate themselves with Extinction Rebellion. (I have not re-posted all of them; and those I have posted, I didn't read all of them.)

It is clear that the British are leading this embryonic movement that is growing worldwide. The posts should be regarded as the very beginning of the acknowledgement and confrontation concerning the climate crisis, and the threat of human species extinction. The posts feature Prof. Jem Bendell (in one post, also Matthew Slater) who has delivered a number of talks to Deep Adaptation groups associated with this movement. However, I think regarding this subject, there are no experts about what we should do or think about human extinction, which is becoming incontrovertible by the week. The Forum's concern is just a reflection of the advantages of membership in the upper-middle class in mainly capitalist Britain that has allowed this highly trained class of people to become informed about this subject.

These "experts" often glibly mention that dealing with this subject should somehow be liberating and even mention the rewards of joy, love, and healing to those willing to confront the subject. Some, like Bendell, even mention in passing that capitalism has some relation to our extinction, but that is as far as they go in exploring the subject. Bendell approves of the age-old religions such as Buddhism and Sufism, and suggests that they might be helpful.

It is clear to me that many organizers and the leaders of Deep Adaptation groups are recommending only individualist solutions for dealing with the unthinkable and recommending that commiserating with other upper-middle class people will be helpful. And always added to that is the requirement of non-violence. We wouldn't want to upset our capitalist masters who fear violence, but never hesitate to use violence against others if they threaten their system that delivers to them so much wealth and power over the rest of us (sarcasm). But enough of my bias. Read his scripted and/or listen to his talks, which depart occasionally from his script with ad lib remarks, to see what you think.

The options for the YPG Kurds are stark. They are slowly realizing they were used by the Pentagon as mercenaries. [Special Post] The Syrian Kurds Agree to a Deal with the Government of Syria

In this major development, and likely turning point in the US/Anglo/Zionist Empire's quest to inject chaos into Syria starting back in roughly 2011, many online posts are announcing that the Syrian Kurds, backed formerly by US troops in northern and northeastern Syria, are forced by circumstances to reach an agreement with the Syrian government. First, let's see the posts by the Empire's main propaganda organs: The New York Times, followed by the British propaganda service, Reuters, and the Times of Israel:

Funding The Climate Breakdown : How can it be stopped?

Click here to access an 11:17m video from Just Have a Think via YouTube.

I think this latest installment from Just Have a Think is an excellent example of what Cory Morningstar has thoroughly exposed about capitalism's funding of reform efforts to subvert the protests concerning the climate crisis. Note particularly what Dave Borlace, the narrator, says about selecting "our banks" who will in turn, presumably because of our influence, fund efforts at mitigating the crisis. Absolute nonsense! Yes, they will set up some banks for this purpose, but meanwhile the major banks will continue to do business as usual.  And if we are fooled, we will see an increasing climate and environmental deterioration which will eventually end in the extinction of human and most other species.

I don't know if the narrator is a naive dupe or whether he is consciously serving the ruling capitalist classes. But I do know that privately owned banks, which make up the Federal Reserve and control it, do not serve the general public in our societies, but only one tiny part of it--the ruling capitalist class.

I repudiate my recommendation that you subscribe to this YouTube channel as I previously recommended in the last paragraph of the post on September 27, 2019.
