We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

  • James Corbett Explains The Great Reset on The Highwire from his weblog The Corbett Report in which he explains to Del Bigtree, a troubled ordinary person (from Colorado, and has a weblog) who expresses worries of his own about the Great Reset that powerful figures have planned for us. My reaction: Notice that Corbett, the outspoken anarchist, does not point fingers at government authorities, but powerful transnational capitalist figures. Apparently he doesn't know that government authorities are just tools controlled by ruling capitalist classes. Corbett, the anarchist, espouses "decentralization" but without taking away the concentration of private ownership of the economy.
