We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Posts that I especially recommend today: Thursday, November 26, 2020

  • The Pentagon and the CIA Are in Charge of Foreign Policy by Jacob G. Hornberger from The Future of Freedom (Note: This is an obvious libertarian organization, and I don't agree with its principles, but any author can be right some of the time. On this subject he is 100% right--in fact, I would say that the secretive, unaccountable CIA and their bosses in the Deep State control our government. Our "democracy" is totally fake.)
  • The Great Pretext…for Dystopia by Diana Johnstone from The Unz Review. My reaction: She does a good job describing the implications of Schwab's new governance (because the remarks so far by Schwab about the Great Reset is largely propaganda), but fails on the visceral opposition by capitalists to any hint of real democracy.
