We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Announcement about a significant change in my blogging for Sunday, April 11, 2021

Around the 1st of the month I experienced a significant decline in my health due to the loss of balance. I have been "blessed" with good health as I approach the end of my life in my retirement years. But this change of status of my health adversely affects my commentaries. I was shocked yesterday to read my commentary later in the afternoon for the entry entitled "New Revelations on Germ Warfare" and tried to clean it up. Anyway, I have decided to reduce my time blogging, but at the present time I don't know how much. (I will continue to maintain my more permanent aspects of the website as long as I am able.) So, I will continue posting entries in the future only sporadically, that is, until further notice to determine if and when I'm able to establish a schedule. (I seem to be a "creature of habit".)
